8 & UNDER GIRLS HOCKEYLEVEL 1 - (AGES 4-10)GIRLS LEARN TO PLAY

• Recommended as a first step for beginning hockey players who have completed a Learn to Skate class and have a solid base of fundamental skating skills

• One 1-hour skate each week on Saturdays• Emphasis on creating a fun, challenging environment for players to

learn the beginning principles of skating in equipment, stickhandling and puck skills

• Skill stations and skillbuilding games as part of each session• Sessions run by Suburban instructional staff with the help of parent

volunteers• $25 discount if you register for the combo package - Session 1 & 2

LEVEL 2 - (AGES 5-8)6U (MINI MITE)

• Program serves as an introduction to “team” play with practice sessions and small-ice games

• Two 1-hour skates each week – one on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings between 5-7:00pm and one on Saturdays

• First five weeks of the program serve as training camp to teach age-appropriate skills to players and as an on-ice training session for coaches

• At the end of training camp players are divided into equal teams and receive their team jersey and hockey socks

• Teams will be grouped into lines based on skill and experience • Lines will be matched during all game situations to ensure that

players are playing at their competitive level• Weekday practice sessions focus on fundamental skating and puck

skills using skill stations and small-ice games• Weekend sessions consist of small-ice games in a fun, age-

appropriate and competitive environment that maximizes ice time, increases puck possession time, stimulates creativity, and enhances the fundamental skill development of each player

LEVEL 3 (AGES 7-8)8U (MITE)

• Mite teams skate 8 times per month at Suburban Ice-Farmington Hills

• Teams will be selected by Suburban Staff with the assistance of volunteer coaches

• At the end of training camp players are divided into equal teams

• Team jersey and socks provided

• Weekly ice time on Fridays between 5:30-7:30pm and on Sundays

• During games, lines will be matched so that Advanced players will play against Advanced players and same for Intermediate players

• Special skill sessions conducted by Suburban Staff

• Program runs 25 weeks from September through March (no skates during holiday breaks)

• Great schedule and excellent ice times all at one location for Level 1 & 2

• Commitment to the development of skills, knowledge of the game, and FUN!

• Players will play and be challenged at their competitive level

• Full equipment required

• Players receives: jersey, hockey socks and year-end awards

• Sessions run by Suburban instructional staff with the help of parent volunteers

*Note: All applicants are required to register with USA Hockey ($45 for ages 7 & older, 6 & under are FREE) for the 2018-19 hockey season; birth certificate may be required

VOLUNTEER COACHES Parent coaches have been and continue to be a vital key to the success of the Honeybaked Hockey Club. We welcome parent coaches! Please contact us if you are a parent with a hockey background, either as a player or a coach, we would love to have you be a part of our program.

All coaches are required to complete a background check, safesport and go through the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (CEP), which offers certification classes starting in August. www.maha.org

PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND REFUND POLICYWe use an online registration process only. You may choose to pay the full amount at the time of registration or you may choose the online auto payment plan. If your player is injured or unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances, you remain responsible for all of your player’s dues and/or fees.
