1. Students should consider their course choices wisely. In the JAE, applicants are posted to a course based on meritaccording to their net aggregate scores (taking into account any bonus points applicants are eligible for).

2. Students should make full use of their 12 choices. If a student is unsuccessful in getting a place in any of his/her registered choices, he/she will be posted to a course with remaining vacancies AFTER all the other students are being posted according to their registered choices.

IMPORTANT!!!

11

Page 12: Ticket sales will commence on Monday, 03 February …...The GCE O-Level is not the destination. It is part of the process of growing and learning. • As you await your GCE O-Level

3. Students are strongly encouraged to indicate at least 2-3 courses where their aggregate scores are much better than the previous year’s course cut-off points (COP), so that they will stand a better chance of being admitted to one of their course choices. Past year COP can be a useful reference but be prepared for variations!

4. Students who are unsuccessful in their JAE application to JC/MI may approach the institution directly to appeal. Students who wish to appeal for admission must meet the minimum entry requirements for admission to JC/MI. Those who do not meet the 2020 COP are unlikely to be successful in their appeals.

IMPORTANT!!!

12

Page 13: Ticket sales will commence on Monday, 03 February …...The GCE O-Level is not the destination. It is part of the process of growing and learning. • As you await your GCE O-Level

5. Students who wish to appeal for a place in a polytechnic or ITE Higher Nitec course may do so online, through a combined polytechnic and ITE Higher Nitec appeals portal at https://jaeappeal.edu.sg. Results of the appeal will also be released through this portal.

6. Students who were not posted to any course during the JAE might receive a Nitec course offer from ITE. You are also strongly encouraged to submit an appeal through the above portal as you can still appeal for a Higher Nitec course.

7. Students wishing to appeal online must (i) meet the minimum entry requirements for their chosen polytechnic / ITE courses and (ii) the current year’s cut-off point (information will be made available on the JAE appeals website).

IMPORTANT!!!

13

Page 14: Ticket sales will commence on Monday, 03 February …...The GCE O-Level is not the destination. It is part of the process of growing and learning. • As you await your GCE O-Level

8. Please use all 6 JAE appeals choices carefully. You will be informed of the outcome through the appeals portal and SMS notifications.

9. If you do not receive a posting by the end of JAE appeals, you might be offered an alternative course as an additional option. If you are offered an alternative posting, you are encouraged to accept it as it will give you a chance to continue your studies.

10. You can still appeal directly to the polytechnics or ITE for courses that you are interested in. You can do this even if you have accepted a posting through the JAE appeals.
