Introduction & History

Steeped in history, Texas International Consultants, Incorporated began as a vision of Mary Lucretia Mendiola. Born in Mexico in the late 1800’s, her upbringing was of old world values. She was raised with the belief that land was holy and to own it divine. So when she came to Houston in 1911 with her husband, Manuel, an artist and art history professor, and their thirteen children, she began to buy land on the north side of Houston and then established Mendiola Real Estate in 1921. She continued to purchase land all around Houston and ultimately small houses & buildings to rent through the twenties, thirties and forties. Her son Joseph, the youngest of the thirteen, returned from World War II with his bride, Pamela, from London and began to build and sell homes to the returning GI’s and their growing families in the forties, fifties and sixties.

Introduction & History Continued

During the fifties and sixties the business grew under several subsidiaries with Mendiola Properties being the most prominent. In addition to tract homes, they branched out to construction, mortgage and insurance for custom homes and small free standing commercial buildings for existing clients. In the sixties and seventies the business continued to expand with Pamela taking an active role in buying, leasing and managing rental properties along with some other non-real estate related businesses, which she operated through the late seventies after the death of Joseph. In 1978, Texas International Consultants, Incorporated, (TICI) became the parent company for all of the various subsidiaries and holdings.

Introduction & History Continued

At this time the board was expanded to include the third generation,

their daughter, Helen, just entering the commercial real estate business after college. From the early eighties until her illness in 2003, Pamela ran a successful company consisting of various partnerships and holdings for diversified businesses and real estate. After the sudden illness of her mother, Pamela, Helen took a leave of absence from her position in corporate real estate with a large regional bank and stepped into the role as acting CEO. When it became clear that Pamela would not be able to return to her daily activities, Helen resigned her position and assumed the full time role of President and CEO.

Introduction & History Continued

From 2003 to the end of 2009, Helen, through a comprehensive business plan, began to divest of partnerships, holdings and loans in four cities and two states. After the death of Pamela in November of 2009, Helen was tasked with whether to continue with the family legacy or return to the corporate world. After much deliberation, in the spring of 2010, Helen elected to combine the best of both worlds and restructure the company into a full service, third party, consulting firm to public and private CEO | CFO & COOs, Real Estate Operating Companies, In-house Real Estate | Facility Executives as well as to Landlord|Owners, Operators, Investors, Developers, Lenders and Tenants (end users).

Introduction & History

Beginning the next phase of TICI in 2010, Helen and her husband

Jay, a risk management and real estate executive, embarked on growing the business one client at a time. Their preference is to work closely with strategic alliance partners across all industry sectors to complement the service platform requirements of each client. In the fourth quarter of 2012, The TICI Group of Companies was reborn with the establishment of Stealth Realty Advisors, LLC to focus on Capital Markets, Acquisitions, Dispositions & Tenant Representation for our clients. As The TICI Group moves into 2013, the owners are reminded that it all began with the vision of Lucretia in 1911, one hundred + years ago. It is instilled in the same vein to the third generation to continue to deliver the same values, work ethic and integrity for generations to come. We hope you will embark on this journey with our ancestors and us.
