AT A GLANCE TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor provides real-time visibility into TIBCO BusinessWorks processes so business teams can identify the status of process instances and IT teams can monitor process performance and prevent problems. Increased Visibility Provides real-time business process visibility via reports, drill downs, graphics, and data. Reduced Complexity Auto-discovers, maps, and dynamically monitors processes; Provides self-service monitoring. Fast Time to Results Supports quick resolution of issues with a powerful query editor, status dashboard, assisted task management, role-based access, and interactive process diagrams. Low Total Cost of Ownership Does not require changes to existing processes or instrumentation of new processes and makes process information available to business and IT users, supporting improved operations and reduced support time. BENEFITS TIBCO BUSINESSWORKS PROCESSMONITOR For example, a customer reports they did not receive a response to an order they placed. Helped by the ProcessMonitor’s auto-suggest query tool, a business user searches on the customer’s name. All relevant process instances – across domains, engines, processes, and services – along with their status are displayed as designed in TIBCO Designer . Clicking on the drill-down graphics reveals an alert associated with the underlying integration. At this point, the business user can create a ProcessMonitor task, requesting assistance from IT operations. Efficient, Real-Time Troubleshooting For IT users, the system helps manage support workload by allocating tasks by role. Interactive diagrams make it easy to understand the process flow and drill down inside the process to view its execution paths and identify root causes. To resolve issues quickly, users can easily define rules to immediately trigger a task, email, or JMS message. Visibility into Process Operations While enterprise monitoring solutions provide visibility and reporting for IT infrastructure, transactional processes are also key to successful operations – and would greatly benefit from monitoring. And now you can monitor them. BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor lets you identify integration process issues, correlate them with infrastructure issues, and troubleshoot, as well as proactively monitor to prevent problems. Intuitive, Graphical, and Web-Brower Accessible ProcessMonitor’s rich web interface supplies at-a-glance visibility and broad functionality for both business and IT users, allowing organizations to become more responsive, efficient, and flawless. Proactive Process Monitoring In addition to providing real-time status, ProcessMonitor aggregates process performance over time. Immediate graphical views of long-term data help identify if the integration process is performing as usual, if a trend is building, or if performance is periodically impacted. Users can change the time window and drill down to instance data for information about the cause of the issue without leaving ProcessMonitor’s web interface. Tracing can be used to capture input/ output data at runtime or over a specified time period.

BENEFITS

TIBCO BusInessWOrks PrOCessMOnITOr

For example, a customer reports they did not receive a response to an order they placed. Helped by the ProcessMonitor’s auto-suggest query tool, a business user searches on the customer’s name. All relevant process instances – across domains, engines, processes, and services – along with their status are displayed as designed in TIBCO Designer™. Clicking on the drill-down graphics reveals an alert associated with the underlying integration. At this point, the business user can create a ProcessMonitor task, requesting assistance from IT operations.

Efficient, Real-Time Troubleshooting

For IT users, the system helps manage support workload by allocating tasks by role. Interactive diagrams make it easy to understand the process flow and drill down inside the process to view its execution paths and identify root causes. To resolve issues quickly, users can easily define rules to immediately trigger a task, email, or JMS message.

Visibility into Process Operations

While enterprise monitoring solutions provide visibility and reporting for IT infrastructure, transactional processes are also key to successful operations – and would greatly benefit from monitoring. And now you can monitor them. BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor lets you identify integration process issues, correlate them with infrastructure issues, and troubleshoot, as well as proactively monitor to prevent problems.

Intuitive, Graphical, and Web-Brower Accessible

ProcessMonitor’s rich web interface supplies at-a-glance visibility and broad functionality for both business and IT users, allowing organizations to become more responsive, efficient, and flawless.

Proactive Process Monitoring

In addition to providing real-time status, ProcessMonitor aggregates process performance over time. Immediate graphical views of long-term data help identify if the integration process is performing as usual, if a trend is building, or if performance is periodically impacted. Users can change the time window and drill down to instance data for information about the cause of the issue without leaving ProcessMonitor’s web interface. Tracing can be used to capture input/output data at runtime or over a specified time period.

Installation and Performance

• Installs in a few hours and begins auto-discovery and monitoring automatically.

• Discovers engines and processes across all domains it has access to, ensuring smooth deployments on existing BusinessWorks implementations.

• Supplies role-based security allowing only authorized access to information.

• Provides consistent performance and fast results, allowing users access to information in real-time even in high-volume processing environments.

Business users can see into processes, objects, and services they care about. Technical users can drill-down inside interactive process diagrams, see execution paths, and identify root causes.

Historical trends for business services – and BusinessWorks processes overlaid with infrastructure events such as engine restarts – supports understanding of interdependencies and impact.

ATTRIBUTES & CAPABILITIES

Development

• Employs the TIBCO BusinessWorks ActiveAspects plugin for Aspect Oriented Programing to invoke cross cutting actions, common actions that don’t pertain to process logic; for example, items to be logged. Cutpoints can be defi ned graphically and dynamically in ProcessMonitor’s web interface.

• Provides a TIBCO Designer palette for tracking specifi c data, confi guring logging procedures, and exception management. (BusinessWorks can identify and ignore faulty process instances even when exception management has not been defi ned.)
