Did you know?

In some countries around the world, thymus glands/pancreas are delicacies (known here as sweetbreads).

Did you know??

They Hypothalamus Gland controls your orgasms

Concept Check

1. What main role does the thymus carry out? Production of T-Cells (white blood cells that fight viruses and infection, including

autoimmune diseases.

2. Why does the thymus gland shrink as we get older? It is only active until puberty, after which it is replaced by fat. It is largest during

adolescent years.

3. What is homeostasis? How does the Hypothalamus regulate this? Homeostasis is the body maintaining balance in acidity and alkalinity, and

regulating body temperature. The hypothalamus controls when other endocrine glands produce their respective hormones, thereby controlling homeostasis.
