BUS SERVICE There will again be a bus service from Millom to The Green and back starting at 12:00 noon from the Market Square and will run throughout the afternoon. Last return bus to Millom 5:00p.m.

Confirmed attractions include Milnthorpe Steel Band,,

Taiko Drummers, Sellafield Police Dog Team, Karen’s Dancers, Holborn Hill Junior Band just to mention a few. Gates open 12:00 noon.

10:00 – 3:00p.m. Thwaites Village Hall Please come along and help us bake extra cakes for the refreshments and cake stall. We had great fun last year and it really helped the ladies in the kitchen. If you cannot bake and would like to contribute ingredients for the baking team please let Hazel have any items e.g. eggs, sugar, flour, butter or similar that would help us provide extra cakes. If you prefer to bake at home please bring your cakes along on the day of the Gala

Plan is now ready for public consultation. An initial,

public, meeting has, therefore, been arranged for 7:30pm on Thursday, 4th July in Thwaites Village Hall for local residents to hear what is involved. Members of the community are invited to take

Neighbourhood Planning Under the new Localism Act designated ‘Neighbourhood Areas’ (such as Millom

Without) have the opportunity to influence future development within their areas.

To this end a draft plan has been prepared and now needs to be subject to public

consultation. To this end a meeting has been arranged for Thursday, 4th July in

Thwaites Village Hall from 7:30 p.m. Given that considerable changes in local

government may be implemented in future a plan such as this is likely to be of

considerable importance. Anyone with an interest in the future of our communities

is invited the above meeting to hear a presentation of the issues. Please make

A great time was had by everyone at the May meeting which was well attended by seven W.I.'s in the immediate area, as well as twenty five members of Thwaites.

Millom Flower Club gave us a fabulous Flower Demonstration themed "More Songs from the Shows" the spectacular arrangements were raffled at the end of the evening after we had all enjoyed our supper and a natter! It was great to catch up with the members from the other nearby Institutes. We have planned some trips out for when the weather gets warmer (if that ever happens!).
