WE MIGHT BE TURNING THE CORNER!! - No, not the coronavirus corner I’m sad to say. I’m pretty sure that particular corner is miles and miles down the road. I’m referring to what seems to be an up-tick of businesses here in town. While I was making deliveries yesterday afternoon, I noticed some activity inside what used to be the old Bulk Barn build-ing. What type of business it might be is, yet to me, unknown. Regardless of that and whatever form of business it is, I wish them well in their efforts and I hope
that the community will robustly support them.
Next door to the pharmacy, there is ac-tivity in the old Ron Atkins Accounting office which, I’m told by the new owner, is going to be an insurance office of one sort or another. During our conversation, he apologized to me for all of the noise, i.e. sawing, hammering, drilling, etc., that we have heard through the wall during his remodeling process. I assured him that it was no problem but we did have a cus-tomer or two come in and ask if we had somebody in the back room beating on a bass drum. Just kidding him of course.
I’m not quite sure of the sudden closure of Braden’s Café and I don’t intend to, nor care to, speculate on it. I’m not a prattler of such things. To whomever owns the building and/or business which it may hold in the future, it is my hope that it will be an ongoing business that may serve the community for many years to come.
As I have articulated to in many of these past columns, I was born, raised, and cur-rently live in Bellefontaine. It is, was back then, a small town which gives one a sense
of hominess and security. Now I’m not going to blabber on about the Mayberry RFD silliness I had as a kid. Let’s just say that I’m a small town guy that no lon-ger relishes the glitz and glitter that cities like Columbus or Cincinnati may offer. The truth be told, I much more prefer the little dot on the map that is somewhat out in the middle of nowhere. As we speak, I’m beginning to outgrow the feeling of the ever-growing city that I call home.
I’ve been in business here in town for ten years now. And I have loved it. To be able to serve the community and contrib-ute to its viability makes me proud of the work we here at the pharmacy do. I enjoy having the time to talk to our customers and friends that stop in, not necessarily to purchase anything, but just to chat. You, our lifeline to a successful business, make that all possible. THANK YOU!!
-Kevin
