Clari-Trac CT2 – Dual Control Panel submittal Attached is the submittal for the Leopold Clari-Trac CT2 sludge removal system. The Leopold CT2 Control Panel has been installed in hundreds of municipal water and wastewater treatment plants worldwide. It is easy to use and utilizes proven off-the-shelf components. The Leopold CT2 Control Panel is a NEMA 4X (IP65) type 304 stainless steel enclosure by Hoffman with all necessary components to control the sludge removal equipment in the manual or fully automatic mode. The enclosure size is 36” x 36” x 12” with a 24” floor stand kit. It is a PLC based system with manual backup independent of the PLC. A Modicon 984 Compact PLC model 258 is being provided for automatic control of the clarification process. The processor has no network capabilities. In addition, an operator interface panel model MT200 by Panel Tec for operator adjustable setpoint changes is being provided. A 1/4 HP DC SCR by KB Electronics is being used to move the solids collector at a rate of 0.5 to12 feet per minute. Control relays are plug in type 8501 by Square D. Push buttons, hand switches and pilot lights are type ZB4 by Telemecanique. The control panel is also equipped with the capability to remotely start the system, as well as dry contacts for status. Contacts include forward, reverse, running, alarm and sludge valve control. The Leopold CT2 Dual Control Panel requires 120 VAC, 1ph, 50 HZ, 40 amp service. Notes/Clarifications: Please note the CT2 system requires 1 (one) sludge valve per tank (4 total) with an electric motor actuator supplied by others. The actuator requires isolated (dry-voltage free) normally closed limit switches as shown on Leopold drawing 4664.99.14.03 lines 111/112 & 131/132. Thank you for selecting the Leopold CT2 system.

SWITCH FUNCTIONS A. HAND/AUTO SYSTEM SELECTION SWITCH
HAND - The "Hand" position allows manual operation of the sludge collector or manual operation of the sludge valve.
AUTO - Allows automatic operation of the collector system including operation of the
sludge valve. In the automatic mode, the sludge collector operation shall be based on a PLC timer. Separate timers for each collector panel shall be provided in the PLC program. When a sludge collector is started, the sludge valve shall open. When a sludge collector is stopped, the sludge valve shall close after an operator adjustable time.
B. EMERGENCY STOP PUSH-PULL SWITCH (in Auto or Hand Mode)
This switch when pushed will stop the operation of the collector. It will also close the sludge valve and illuminate the alarm light.
C. ALARM INDICATOR/RESET LIGHTED PUSH BUTTON (in Auto or Hand Mode)
When there is an alarm, the sludge collector drive will stop.
RESET - Resets the alarm condition and the alarm output when the button is pushed.
LIGHT - An alarm condition will occur for one of the following reasons and the alarm
light will flash to indicate alarm condition.
1. Emergency Stopped Pushed – Single Flash
2. Drive Motor Overload (In Auto or Hand Mode) – Double Flash
3. Cable failure (In Auto or Hand Mode) – Triple Flash 4. Sludge valve malfunction (In Auto Mode Only) – Quad Flash
If at any time the sludge valve fails to reach the open or closed limits, the valve will “malfunction”.

D. REV/OFF/FWD DRIVE SELECTOR SWITCH (in Hand Mode only) REV - In "Reverse" the collector travels toward the park position. The collector
will continue in the reverse direction until it reaches the end of travel and will stop at the park position unless an overload condition is sensed and the collector stops.
OFF - Shuts off drive unit so that the collector will not travel.
FWD - In "Forward" the collector travels away from the park position. The collector
will continue in the forward direction until it reaches the end of travel and will stop at the forward position unless an overload condition is sensed and the collector stops.
E. FORWARD INDICATOR LIGHT (in Auto or Hand Mode)
When the "Forward" light is illuminated, it indicates that the collector is traveling from the "Park" position (reverse limit) toward the forward limit of travel.
F. REVERSE INDICATOR LIGHT (in Auto or Hand Mode)
When the "Reverse" light is illuminated, it indicates that the collector is traveling from the forward limit toward the "Park" position (reverse limit).
G. POSITION INDICATING LIGHTS
PARK POSITION - The Clari-Trac is not moving and is in the Park position.
1/3 TRAVEL POSITION - As the unit moves forward from the park position, this light indicates that the Clari-Trac has traveled 1/3 of the total distance entered in the Length of Travel register in the PLC.
2/3 TRAVEL POSITION - As the unit continues to move forward, this light indicates that the Clari-Trac has traveled 2/3 of the total distance entered in the Length of Travel register in the PLC.
FWD LIMIT POSITION - This light indicates that the Clari-Trac is at the farthest point of travel away from the drive unit.

Backplanes
General, Description, References
General
The Compact HDTA series backplanes are designed so that they mount easily on a DIN rail. The DIN rail serves as thesystem ground.
Three different backplanes are available, with or without conformal coating. [The conformal coating is applied over thebackplane board, and protects the electronic components against harsh environmental conditions.] Suitable backplaneswith different capacities are available for each stage of expansion. The primary backplane can accept one CPU andup to three I/O modules. The secondary backplanes offer additional support for two or five modules. Up to threebackplanes can be connected in series to the primary backplane.
The built-in parallel backplane bus connects each slot of a backplane to the data bus and the 5 V supply. The backplanescan be mounted in either a stacked on linear fashion, as the application warrants. There is a maximum local expansionof 18 I/O module slots plus the slot for the CPU. The data bus and 5V supply can be passed to the other backplanesin the system using the WBXT-201 extension cable.
An access cover is supplied with every backplane to protect the front of the modules. Transparent holders provide spacefor user-defined labels.

Compact Automation Platform
CPUs
General, Description
General
The Compact Automation Platform central processing units (CPUs) use flash memory for the operating system andcommand set storage. This nonvolatile memory provides cost and time saving upgrades on site: instead of replacingEEPROMs or memory assemblies, only one file needs to be loaded into the CPU to upgrade data.
For both decentralized data transfer and programming, every CPU is equipped with at least two Modbus interfaces. Thelarger CPUs also have one Modbus Plus interface. The bus interfaces are easily accessible at the module's front panel. Two rotary switches are located on the front for models with Modbus Plus. These switches are used to set the addressesof the Modbus interfaces.
The CPU stores the application program in battery-backed RAM. The battery is located on the front of the module andcan be replaced without loss of data during operation. Storing the user program in flash ROM secures data even duringoperation without a battery.
Two slide switches provide simplified user control of key functions. The memory protection switch prevents programmingdevices or other input devices from overwriting the user program. The Modbus interface switch sets the Modbus datatransfer parameters as either ASCII, RTU, or any other protocol that can be set manually.
A slot for PCMCIA cards - available in the 275 and 285 series CPUs - provide another programming interface or memoryexpansion possibility.
Every CPU has a real-time clock that provides both the date and the time. The 258, 265, 275, and 285 controllers providean input for synchronizing the clock with the Global Positioning System (GPS).
The 258C/R central processing units correspond to Railroad Standard EN 50 155. They have an expanded temperaturerange, flash ROM for the user program on the CPU (no battery required), and yellow LEDs.
All controllers are available with protective conformal coating on the electronic components.

Discrete I/O Modules
General, Description
General
The Compact Platform's discrete I/O modules consist of input modules, output modules, and combined input/outputmodules. LEDs provide at a glance the operating state of the module and the status of the inputs and outputs. Thephysical organization of the LEDs allows quick diagnostics of all corresponding modules.
The Compact I/O modules are entirely software configurable. Any module can be configured in any slot. All configurationparameters for each individual I/O module appear on the configuration screen of the I/O configuration list. Onceconfigured, the software program detects missing or defective modules and sends the appropriate signal to the CPU.
Both electrically isolated and non-isolated modules are available. Peripherals are connected by means of a screwterminal strip. The screw terminal strip can be removed for installation and, as an option, protected against incorrectconnections.
The alternating voltage range of the I/O modules extends from 24 VAC to 250 VAC. All alternating voltage modulesoperate reliably at least in the frequency range from 47 to 63 Hz (sinusoidal with <5% harmonic content).
The direct voltage range extends from 5 VDC input and output modules for TTL and CMOS to 10… 60 VDC and 24 …154 VDC for relay output modules.
The Compact platform uses the following type designations:i DEP - digital input modules, electrically isolatedi DAP - digital output modules, electrically isolatedi DEO / DAO - digital input / output modules without electrical isolation.
Modules with the type designation “AS-B-xxx-25x” have an expanded temperature range and are suitable for railroadapplications. Electronic components with conformal coating are identified with the suffix “C” in the type designation.

DESCRIPTION
The KBPB™ “cycler” control is designed to provide anti-plug “instant” reversing, solid state dynamic braking andrapid cycling. It combines all of the features of the KBMM™speed control with the features of the KB APRM®*. Contactarcing is eliminated since the APRM® allows armatureswitching to take place only when current levels are nearzero. The KBPB contains a built-in barrier terminal block andits compact size makes the control ideal for installationwhere space is at a premium.
All models are equipped with KB’s exclusive Plug-inHorsepower Resistor®. It eliminates the need for recalibratingIR Comp and Current Limit when the control is used on various horsepower motors. The basic ratings of the controlsare enhanced with the addition of KB’s Auxiliary Heatsink. The controls also contain Inhibit™, which allows for electronicswitching of the armature voltage, and Auto Inhibit®, whichprovides rapid, safe switching of the AC line.
The controls can be used to drive all PM and ShuntWound DC motors from 0-full speed by three separate methods:a 5K remote speed pot, an auxiliary speed pot (S4 terminal),or voltage following. If the control is to be operated in a voltage following mode, an isolated analog signal (0-9VDC)is applied to the input terminals P2 (+) and F (-). Adjustmenttrimpots are provided for MIN, MAX, IR COMP, CL, ACCELand DECEL.

Class 8501 General Purpose RelaysType R – Miniature Plug-in RelayGeneral and Order Information
Class 8501 Type R relays are suited for use as logic elements and power switching output devices. The short strokemotion of the armature provides long mechanical life required for high speed operation of control systems. Differentcontact compositions allow these relays to be used in a variety of applications. Fine silver (gold flashed) and bifurcatedcrossbar (gold overlay silver) are suitable for high contact reliability and low level switching requirements. Silver cad-mium oxide is best suited for inductive loads. Hermetically sealed relays can be used in adverse environments.

a These maximum current values assume the use of insulated copper conductors with 75°C temperature rating, and are calculated based on NEC Article 310, Table 310-16. In most cases this value is the maximum ampacity of that wire or combination of wires (as listed in the above table) which has the greatest current carrying capacity. The actual allowable current for a particular application is dependent upon the number, size, insulation class and other characteristics of the wires used.

Selection:In order to properly select a Class 9080 Type GCB circuit protector, follow the following steps:1. Determine the inrush correction factor from Table A at right.2. Determine the temperature correction factor from Table B at right.3. Determine the sealed current of the load that is being protected.4. Multiply the sealed current by the two correction factors and choose the
closest circuit protector. Note: Choosing a circuit protector with a value lower than the calculated value might cause nuisance tripping, while choosing the larger might provide a protector that will not properly protect the load.
Example: Solenoid with sealed current of .75 Amps, an inrush ratio of 1:6 and in an ambient temperature of 85˚F. .75 x 1.5 x 1.05 = 1.18 Choose the 1.2 Amp protector
Tripping Time:Tripping time of the circuit protector is determined from Table C at right. Divide the circuit protector value by the temperature correction factor from Table B above to determine actual rated current referenced in Table C.

Hoffman electric heaters should be centered aslow as possible on an interior enclosure panel. This permits the unit to heat the cool airlocated at the bottom of the enclosure. Formaximum efficiency and longevity, the heatershould be mounted in a vertical position withthe terminal block to the bottom and the airoutlet openings at the top in a sealedenclosure free from dust or debris. However, the unit will also effectively distribute heat ifturned 90 degrees with the terminal block outthe bottom and the air outlet at the side.Although enclosure panels are preferable, heaters may be installed on any flat sheet metalsurface. Do not install heaters on wood panels.
Heat sensitive components should not beplaced near the heater discharge area since thisair can be quite warm. The clearance rangedefines the space that must be kept free ofthese components for proper and safeoperation of the heater.
Application
Designed to protect sensitive mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment from theharmful effects of condensation, corrosion, andlow temperatures.Thermostatically controlledfan-driven heater units maintain a stabletemperature within enclosures so criticalcomponents can perform more reliably over a longer period of time.
