What they have in common Each synopsis, are based round someone having mental health problems.

The Call and The Lovely bones both involve two young girls who get murdered by older men who are mentally unstable.

They don't give too much away to keep the suspense.

In One Hour Photo they don't give too much away by ending with this statement “Soon however, Parrish reveals his hand, and the Yorkin family realise the full horror of their situation.

In The Call, it ends on a rhetorical question “Can Jordan save Casey from meeting the same fate as the previous caller?” This builds the suspense as it doesn't give away what will happen.

In Shutter Island it has a short synopsis which is very vague but builds suspense without giving too much away, “Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital.” It also doesn't say what type of hospital Ashecliffe is, but we usually connatate Mental hospitals with Thrillers.

In The Lovely Bones it's all based round a young girl who has been murdered but it doesn't say how or why in the synopsis, “Centers on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family” this builds tension and enables the audience to want to know what happened.

All involve pain or emotional harm.
