This Week’s Congratulations go to:- Reception Ash Class – Alfie for having a super attitude towards school and challenging himself when he is exploring in the classroom independently. You have really persevered and wanted to do more and more. Well done. Obie for being one of our 'sound superstars' this week and being particularly focussed during our phonics sessions. You have really tried hard to practise and use your sounds. Fantastic. Oak Class - Lewie for showing great control and skill during PE especially when throwing the javelin. Freddie for amazing maths work this week finding one more that a number beyond 10. Elm Class - Jax for settling so well this week and coming in for the whole morning. We are so proud. Franklyn for being an amazing mathematician. You are confident with your doubles and writing and solving number problems. Well done. Year One Palm Class — George for his super ‘can-do’ attitude towards his phonics. He has been trying really hard to apply the new sounds he has learnt in his reading and writing. Keep it up. Achanio for your amazing Presentation Power. You have been working so hard on your handwriting and have written a super diary this week. Well done. Hazel Class– Elsie for fantastic maths this week. You were able to explain
your ideas and didn't give up when it was a little tricky. You are a superstar.
Myla you were a fantastic explorer and were able to use the iPad and books to
find and write information all about our London enquiry.
Willow Class— Boux you have settled into Willow Class brilliantly. We are
lucky to have you. Sam you have been trying super hard to keep your letters
really neat. Keep it up.
Year Two
Chestnut Class– Alaska for an excellent first week at her new school. She
has settled into our routines well and has worked really hard with her maths
and writing. Emily for writing excellent paragraphs of information about turtles
and cranes. She included lots of exciting words such as openers,
conjunctions and adjectives to make her writing interesting. Hawthorn Class– Lilah-Rose has been set some very challenging work this
week and has risen to the challenge, well done. Brayden has tried so hard to
get up the rocket today. He is listening and working hard.
Sycamore Class— Laila-May for taking more pride in her presentation. Keep
concentrating on your handwriting. Mouna for sharing information about
Ramadan so enthusiastically with us. Thank you.
Well done to you all
Class Group Photos
On Tuesday 27th April a photographer is in school to
take class group photos. This year the photos will be
taken outside in the playground. Children must come
to school in their school uniform, with plain socks and dark shoes.
Nursery Class September 2021 If you have a child approaching nursery age, and would like to apply for a place in our nursery starting September 2021, please contact the school office for more details on how to apply.
What are your children learning about at the moment?
How can you support them to succeed?
In Nursery they are enjoying the story of The
Enormous Turnip and learning to work together
as a team to solve problems.
You can support your child by helping them to spot
numbers in the environment– how many can you count?
In Reception they have been busy planting
seeds and learning about how things grow
as well as doubling and halving. Check out Tapestry for
weekly updates. You can support your child by reading
with them at home regularly– regular readers move up
the rocket!
In Year One they are learning all about London.
You can support your child by sharing any
knowledge you have about our capital city and
using Google or Google maps to look at famous
landmarks such as The London Eye, Houses of
Parliament or The Shard and Tower Bridge.
In Year Two their Under the Sea theme from
last term has evolved into ‘Water, Water, Every-
where’ and they are learning about how water is
in every part of our lives. They started the Enquiry with
Grace Darling and lighthouses. You can join your child
on this journey of exploration by asking them what they
have enjoyed learning so far and building on this together
to deepen their knowledge.
Reception Class Eye Tests
Birmingham Paediatric Eye Service are visiting school on Monday 26th April to carry out eye tests of the children in Reception. A letter will be sent home if screening suggests reduced vision and you will receive an appointment for a further test. If screening does not suggest reduced vision you will also receive a letter confirming this.
