Proceeds help the Knights support our Priests of the Sacred Heart and the Jackson Diocese’s priest education program; community, youth and family activities; and local agencies such as DeSoto Industries, Sacred Heart Southern Missions and the Samaritans. GARAGE SALE LEFTOVERS: Don’t know what to do with the good stuff that didn’t sell at your garage sale? Please consider donating all your unsold gently used clothing, household goods, and furniture to Sacred Heart Southern Missions’ Thrift Store in Hernando. The store is located next door to Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Commerce. Your donation can accomplish two things: eliminates putting your unsold items back into storage, and helps some of the poorest in our community. In addition to selling donated goods at very nominal prices, the Thrift Store (unlike Goodwill) also regularly provides clothing and household goods at no charge to families who have lost everything in fires, storms, floods or other tragedies. Your donations can give hope and dignity to the poor, may even be tax deductible. If you have no way to bring your donations to the Thrift Store, contact Sacred Heart Southern Missions Volunteer Coordinator’s office at 662 342-3182 prior to your sale date and we might be able to arrange to pick up your donated items.
