Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? – Proverbs 20:6 One of the most heinous sins of our day is the sin of pride and arrogance. In a culture where marketing and advertising is so prevalent, there is no shortage of people that want to advertise all that they do. Sports stars brag about their accomplishments, businessmen boast of their achievements, and so many others seem it to be so important to declare their own doings. Great men never find it necessary to promote themselves. In Proverbs 20 Solomon tells us that the majority of people who live life will want to be their own personal promoter of good deeds. He goes on to tell about how that faithful men are hard to find. In an age of self-promotion, God gives us some people who will simply stop talking about themselves. Live right, love others, and walk with humility and others will do the talking about you! The greatest way to display character is to prove it with your actions, and no words will be necessary. There is a loss of faithful men and women amongst us, however, they do exist. When we do find a faithful person that lives with integrity and humility they walk as giants among us. At Clear Springs we are blessed to have many seasoned saints of God who display such a faithfulness. One that seems to stand head and shoulders above them all is our very own Dr. Damon Patterson. Born in 1928 in a coal mining camp in Kentucky was a little boy who only God knew what kind of man he would become. For many years Pastor Damon has walked faithfully with God, feeling no need to promote himself. God has kept His word and exalted him for walking in humility before us. His wisdom and walk with Jesus has now stretched many decades and influenced almost five generations! In a world where most ministers promote themselves more than they promote Jesus, Brother Damon has been so faithful to point men to Christ. He has never had to offer secretive suggestions or verbal hints as to all he has accomplished for his Lord. He simply just keeps doing the same thing year after year: Loving God, loving people, and living for Jesus. His faithfulness and humility is unrivaled and his legacy will go down as one of the most faithful men I have ever met. Having served the Lord for the last 17 years I understand now more than ever the words of Solomon, “...a faithful man, who can find?” Though I may not have a large list, I do have one name at the top: Damon Patterson. May the Lord bless you preacher, for being one of the rare faithful ones in this generation. Happy 92nd Birthday Pastor, Clear Springs and I sure do love you! Yours truly, happy birthday!

Sneedville TripOn Saturday, March 28th, our mission house volunteers will be traveling to Sneedville to share clothes, toys, and household items; most importantly, they will be sharing the gospel of Christ. This year, the folks of Sneedville are asking for kitchen plates, cups and cookware of any kind. If you have these items and have been thinking of getting rid of them, please donate them to our Hope Mission House. In addition, we are planning to take cookies to share. If you would like to help with the purchase of the cookies, please give a donation to Lynn Miller, the Connect Center, or any member of the mission house team. Also keep the workers, and also the people of Sneedville in your prayers that God would already be preparing hearts even before we get there! “The fields are white unto Harvest in Sneedville”!! We cannot change their socio-economic status, but we can pray for them, show love, and tell them about Jesus...who can make a difference in their lives for eternity! Is it any wonder why we brag on Him...just look what He has done for us!
