“Thank the Lord that you can give instead of depending on others to give to you.”
“Charity begins at home and generally dies from lack of outdoor exercise.”
“Do not give, as many men do, like a hen that lays her eggs … and then cackles.”
(Henry Ward Beecher, American Abolitionist and Clergyman)
“Wealth shines in giving rather than in hoarding: for the miser is hateful, whereas the generous man is applauded.”
(Boethius, Roman Statesman and Philosopher and Christian Martyr)
Only a life lived for others is worth living.
Reflect-The Apostle Paul says we are to live for God each day. Albert Ein-stein says we are to live for others. How do you think these two things work together, like the wings of a bird in flight?
Prayer-Heavenly Father, we dedicate all we are and all we have to you on this day as living sacrifices. Help us to show and share your love with others today. Amen.
For the safe-
ty and security of eve-ryone, your backpack or bag may be inspected.
Thanks for your cooper-ation!

Worship Service Tech Workers Needed
Due to moves and health issues we are losing three of our Worship Service Tech Workers in the next month. We are in serious need of new Tech Workers to run our Sound, Lighting, Media and Camera Stations for all three morning services, as well as our evening service. If you have a desire to serve our Lord Jesus in these areas, we need you greatly. Our worship services cannot happen without dedicated volunteers to serve these vital tech positions. We will train you on whichever tech station you would like to serve. Please contact Pastor Phillip Shepherd at 770-846-7418 or email him at [email protected]
FBC Heartbeat Class
Date and Time – Sunday, August 4, 10:30 A.M.
Sharing yourself as a Heartbeat to others!
During the Heartbeat Class our Senior Pastor, Dr. Roger Ball, will present the Doctrines of FBC along with our church’s Mission and Vision. In addition, we will speak about the importance of relationships and how to get connected within our church family.
This class will take place in Pastor Rogers’s office. We will meet in the front lobby of the church at 10:30 a.m.
Please contact Jeff Savage with any questions and RSVP at 201-519-2856 or at [email protected].
Worshiping God
Worship is the ‘thank you” that refuses to be silenced.
We have tried to make a science out of worship. We cannot do that. We cannot do that anymore than we can “sell love” or “negotiate peace.”
Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the Savior, by the healed to the Healer, and by the delivered to the Deliverer.

God’s Love
God’s love does not hinge on yours. The abundance of your love does not increase His. The lack of your love does not diminish His. Your goodness does not enhance His love, nor does your weakness dilute it.
God loves you simply because He has chosen to do so.
He loves you when you do not feel lovely.
He loves you when no one else loves you. Others may abandon you, divorce you and ignore you, but God will love you. Always. No matter what.

Most of us, at one time or another in our lives, feel overwhelmed, inexperienced, intimidated, insufficient, too old, too young, invisible, afraid, or lonely. Priscilla Shirer shows us that Gideon’s story is about far more than a wet fleece and a battle won with 300 soldiers. It tells of one man’s struggle with his own weakness – and the One True God who transformed his weakness into victory. “So if you’ve ever struggled with insecurity or had trouble accepting your limitations, this study will help you see how God can use your weakness to unlock His strength.” But, if you haven’t struggled, you may be the tool God uses to unlock His strength in another woman. Yes, weakness is a gift. Join Priscila Shirer for a Bible study that will open your eyes to a brand new perspective on yourself, your God, and …

When Joseph was dropped into a pit by his own brothers, God didn’t give up …
When Moses said, “Here I am, send Aaron,” God didn’t give up …
When the delivered Israelites wanted Egyptian slavery instead of milk and honey, God didn’t give up …
When Samson whispered to Delilah, when Saul roared after David, when David schemed against Uriah, God didn’t give up …
When Peter worshiped Him at the supper and cursed Him at the fire, He didn’t give up …
God never gives up.

Walking Through Deep Waters
All God’s children go through deep waters and trials by fire. There is no if – only when. But with the when comes a Who. God never allows His children to swim alone. His buddy system is sink-and fire-proof. More sure than the when is the Who. It is God who assures His children, “I will be with you” – when!
Can you see God in your trials by water or fire? God says to you, “I will be with you whenever, wherever and forever.”

Valuing Others
God sees us with the eyes of a Father. He sees our defects, errors and blemishes. But He also see our value.
What did Jesus know that enabled Him to do what He did?
Here’s part of the answer. He knew the value of people. He knew that each human being is a treasure. And because He did, people were not a source of stress but a source of joy.

July 7, 2019 Pastor Caleb Curtisi
Why did John write this gospel? John wrote so that we may _____________ _________
____ ________ and be _________ _________ through
knowing Christ. (John 20:31; 17:3)
John 1:1-2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 - “All things came into being through Jesus, and apart from Jesus nothing came into being that has come into being.”
Jesus was not _________________.
He _________________ existed.
James 1:21 “...receive with _________ the implanted _______, which is
able to save your souls.”
Next Steps
● Read or listen to the entire book of John (or do both!)
○ As you read/listen, look for how John accomplishes his purpose for writing: That we may believe that Jesus is God and be fully alive through knowing Christ.
● Ask a believer you look up to what “abiding in the Word” looks like in their life (John 1:1; 8:31-32; 15:4).
● Create a “Logos List”
○ Greek philosophers made observations about the order and logic behind creation (consistent seasons, veins in leaves matching the veins in my hands, etc). This week look for ways that God’s creation is stunningly designed. (Example: Humans breathe in oxygen and breathe out CO2 while plants “breathe in” CO2 and “breathe out” oxygen… incredible!)
