• The oceans have a tremendous influence on both the Earth’s climate and weather patterns.

• This is due to the atmospheric wind patterns and ocean currents.

The Atlantic current is of vital interest because it warms the European continent and has thrown the Earth into an Ice Age by stopping. A huge ice melt upset the current’s density causing a shut down of the cold water sinking in the North Atlantic. Could this happen again?
