THIS MONTH’S silver starPHYLLIS BERMAN
Phyllis was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in the Mt. Airy neighborhood. After high school, she graduated as a Medical Technologist from Hahnemann Hospital at Penn State. She loved working in the hospital until she became pregnant and then worked for a Pediatrician for the better hours and work schedule.
She was married for 50 years, has one son, one daughter, and 4 grandsons! She loves being a grandmother. She and her husband loved to travel and saw most of the world except for South America. Her favorite place was Thailand with its fabulous food and friendly people. She also enjoyed areas of China.
In December, 2019, Phyllis moved into the Carlisle at her daughter’s request. She wanted her mom to be somewhere warm! She has made some lovely friendships at the Carlisle and hopes to meet more great people in the future!
WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO:
hoping to get back in the saddle sometime in juneAs you are aware, we must still practice social distancing. With that said, we will be bringing back some programs on a limited basis in June. Until we get the “go ahead” from our Corporate Office, our outdoor exercise class is the activity which is definitely taking place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at 11 a.m., out by the pool.
The following programs will come back ON A LIMITED BASIS in June. We will distribute a SEPARATE FLYER with the classes, dates and times as soon as we receive the go-ahead.
• Bingo
• Trivia
• Word Games
• Poetry Readings
HANG IN THERE! WE WANT TO GET BACK TO NORMAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE — OR SHOULD WE SAY — THE NEW NORMAL!
We love you every day.

RECAP: HOW WE HAVE STAYED CONNECTED THIS MONTH
what a ride!HELLO EVERYONE:
We made it to June! The past few months have been challenging to say the least! None of us, and that includes the entire world, would ever have expected to live our lives in almost total seclusion due to COVID-19. However, we made the best of the situation. Thanks to everyone, staff and residents included, for keeping everyone as safe as possible.
We hope you have enjoyed the daily afternoon breaks which have included HALLWAY HAPPY HOUR, ice cream and ice cream floats! It was fun to check in with you all in the early afternoon and to have you all see a friendly face! It has also been fun delivering your meals. Again, it has been wonderful being able to see you first thing in the morning.
The activity packets delivered during the week were well-received. There were lots of things in there to challenge your mind as well as fun activities. We have also encouraged everyone to sit out on their balconies to get some sun and fresh air.
We will slowly begin to add programs to the calendar based on what the State of Florida and Senior Lifestyle allow. When this happens, WE WILL SEND OUT A FLYER WITH ALL THIS INFORMATION.
STAY SAFE! WE LOVE YOU!
