Not all the names we use are on the chart. Some are local names.

Here is where they are:

Klaquaek Channel is locally know as “The Lake”. In any wind other than a SW one, this area is calm like a mirror

Page 17: This is the mouse click version of our PowerPoint presentation. Most (but not all) of the slides advance with a click. Also some of the effects within.

This pass is know as “Slaughter Alley”. Local legend has it that one band of Natives massacred another in this spot.

Boaters know this area as Fury Cove as it is behind Fury Island.

Locals call this area “Clam Beach” – do I really have to tell why?

And at the back of Magee Channel is Cooper’s Cove, ‘cause that’s where they live.

This is our supply tug & barge, The Gulf Ranger, delivering our groceries. She’s too big to get into the Lodge, so drops the groceries on the Airport float. The planes bringing in the guests can’t get to the Lodge either, so drops & picks them up from this float.

Clam Beach – the sand looks so white because it isn’t sand, its ground shells.

Most of the beaches around here are shell beaches.
