The project envisages piloting the distance learning HELP course on Anti-discrimination The HELP course will be adapted by Bulgarian magistrates, with

references to domestic case-law, and piloted as a distance learning course for 30 administrative magistrates and court clerks.

A kick-off meeting with an expert from the Council of Europe/HELP will explain to the participants the rationale of the distance learning course and the methodology of the training.

One-day final seminar will gather all participants for a discussion, recommendations and feedback with a view to fine-tuning the distance learning course.

The course will be included in the training schedule of the National Institute of Justice and offered to magistrates on a regular basis.

HELP will translate the course materials as the Council of Europe contribution to the project. NIJ is in contact and coordination with HELP about the translation

The HELP course on Anti-discriminationfor Bulgarian magistrates and court clerks will be adapted to the Bulgarian legal framework, with references to domestic case-law

HELP has provided NIJ with access to the course materials

Two Bulgarian magistrates from the Supreme Administrative Court will adapt and pilot the distance learning course: Mrs Donka Chakarova and Mrs Iliana Slavovska. A working meeting with them was conducted on 22 June 2015.

The tentative schedule for the DL course envisages that it will take place in September and October 2015.

A one-day final seminar in the framework of the distance learning course on anti-discrimination will be held.

An expert from the Council of Europe (HELP) will attend the final seminar.

The course curriculum, materials, and methodology will be discussed and recommendations about improving the course will be collected from the participants in the pilot training.

The tentative date for the final seminar is 22 October 2015.
