ADVENTUREFor many families, warm

weather means adventure. A few years ago, while enjoying a vacation with my family, we all decided to give something new a try – surfing!

Those first few minutes on the waves were a little nerve-wracking, and I’ll admit to having my share of slips and wipeouts. But by the end of the afternoon we were all having such a blast, and the best part is, we got to share that adventure as a family.

It’s easy to forget that overcoming an obstacle (like an enormous wave!) can often be the first step to an incredible new experience. That’s why I love looking for new adventures every day, even when the surfboard is retired for the season. Whether it’s taking your Fresh Market Thermal to the farmer’s market on a sunny Saturday or loading up your Deluxe Utility Tote for a family road trip, adventure is everywhere this time of year.

Thirty-One has been one of my greatest adventures, and it continues to let me explore new things and meet amazing new women. How is Thirty-One different than other direct-selling opportunities? Life is all about finding leisure and enjoying your loved ones. One of the things I love about our products is how they organize me to maximize leisure time. When a friend says, “Let’s head to the pool!” my Large Utility Tote is already packed and ready to go – no stress or mess! And my husband recognizes the value in this, too! Each style represents an activity so he can quickly grab and go!

What are one or two things Thirty-One has helped you and your family purchase that are meaningful to you? We focused on family vacations last summer, paying for a villa in Italy for my parents and for a trip to the Outer Banks for my husband’s entire extended family. We were thrilled to watch his 90-year-old grandmother dip her toes into the ocean, and she was even more thrilled to have a full week with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

How would you describe the relationships you’ve built through Thirty-One? The relationships are so unique and deep that they are hard to explain. One Thirty-One sister took care of my two older children while I delivered my third. Another allowed me the privilege of loving and praying for her through her husband’s deployment. Others have been there through marriage and parenting issues, interstate moves, family tragedies, and of course, happy milestones and celebrations. It’s like a windfall of best friends.

Why did you decide to join Thirty-One? I loved the products, and my friends did too. This was a fun way for me to be out and about making a little extra money while my husband and children enjoyed an evening at home. I originally planned on doing parties only until my friends were done hosting parties. Five years later, I’m still partying! I found that one party leads to another and Hostesses enjoy having parties more than once, so my business has lasted much longer than I ever expected.

What do you like best about being part of the Thirty-One family? I like seeing the transformations women go through with Thirty-One. Whether it’s building confidence, ending a career that was unfulfilling, strengthening their faith or becoming debt-free, everyone has a Thirty-One story, and I love hearing and watching people live out those stories. I’m always excited to share the opportunity. Thirty-One is a gift, and gifts are meant to be given!

How has this opportunity made a difference for you and your family?Our lives are different from the moment my kids wake up until the moment they go to bed. Now, I’m able to make my own schedule, and that allows me to make sure to fit in the things that are important to me and my family. Each day, I’m there for my children before and after school. Each week, I volunteer at their school, attend extracurricular activities and create my party schedule around their activities.

what are some things you do to keep this job fun and enjoyable?I love to joke around and to write, so I have found Facebook to be a fabulous way to develop relationships with my team, Customers, Hostesses and other Consultants. I find humor a great way to connect, and I love when I meet someone for the first time and they tell me that my posts make their day!

How does the flexibility Thirty-One offers benefit you and your family? I am blessed to be able to attend nearly all my kids’ games and functions, and this past winter, when we had numerous school closings, I didn’t have to worry about what I was going to do with my son because I had to work. because my husband and I both work from home, we have the opportunity to hang out during the day and don’t need to plan date nights. and I’m nearly always available for a lunch date with friends!

How would you describe the relationships you’ve built through Thirty-One? I adore my team – they’re an amazing balance of keeping me in check and providing encouragement. Our team’s Facebook page is full of laughter and good-natured ribbing along with support and celebration. Some of my Hostesses and Customers have become my biggest cheerleaders and closest friends, and the other leaders in Thirty-One are some of the smartest, kindest, most godly women I’ve ever met.

How has this opportunity been different than what you expected?I never dreamed past six months! I was going to try it, knowing I could always quit. I had many limiting beliefs when I started. I was nervous about talking in front of people and, to this day, I use notes! I was concerned people would think I was crazy for signing up for this. I’m so thankful I got past my own negative talk and just jumped in. Now, enjoying the friendships, watching women achieve their goals and learning to dream again are my greatest blessings.

How would you describe the relationships you’ve built through Thirty-One? The year before I even knew about Thirty-One, I had been praying for God to send amazing women into my life, and He answered above and beyond what I was expecting. I love the personal fulfillment that this business has given me through relationships and running my business. I cherish the relationships with my team members, sister Consultants, Hostesses and Customers. I never dreamed God would put me in a place to lead women.

What do you tell someone who is thinking about becoming a Consultant?I love to share this business with others and help them see there’s nothing to lose. Give it all you have! Treat your business like a business and it will pay you like a business. You might think, “What if it doesn’t work out?” Well, what if it does?
