Share The Journey The Caritas Internationalis “Share the Journey” Migration Campaign began on September 27, 2017. Pope Francis is joined by bishops across the U.S. and around the world in launching a global campaign to support our brothers and sisters who have fled their homes seeking a decent and safe life for their families. This historic campaign, “Share the Journey,” responds to the needs of some of the most desperate for God’s children. Pope Francis has asked that all parishes prayer the “Share the Journey” prayer for the next two years. You will find a laminated copy of this prayer in the pew pockets.

Nativity Display on the Town Square From December 20 to January 1 Thanks to a faithful group of parishioners, a Nativity display will once again be set up on the south-east corner of the Town Square. Los Niños Jesús Nuestros hermanos no-mexicanos han preguntado sobre el significado de los Niños Jesuses que los parroquianos mexicanos traen a las Misas de Nochebuena. Cada familia tiene su propio niño, el cual lo traen al altar para que esté bendecido durante la Misa. Mientras el sacerdote bendice al niño, unos miembros de la familia mecen al bebe como una expresión de amor. Esta costumbre sagrada simboliza cómo la familia abraza totalmente al Niño Jesús en su vida espiritual. Esta tradición es una manera de adorar a Cristo en su nacimiento y en toda Su Divinidad y Su Humanidad.

Baby Jesus Figurines at Christmas Our non-Mexican brothers and sisters have inquired about the meaning of the Baby Jesus figurines that our Mexican parishioners bring to the Christmas Eve Masses. Each family has its own figurine, which it brings to the altar to have it blessed during the Mass. While the fig-urine is being blessed, some members of the family gently rock the baby as an expression of love. This sacred custom symbolizes how the family fully embraces the Baby Jesus into its spiritual life. This tradition is a means of ador-ing Christ at His birth and in all His Divinity and humanity.
