Dear Parishioners:

Happy Easter!! Jesus is Risen, Alleluia!! In contrast to Peter's denial of Jesus three times, the Risen Jesus asks Peter, "Do you love Me?" Truly, Peter does love Jesus. Neither wickedness nor infidelity can stop this love! Like Peter, we may see ourselves or others in sin and betrayal of Jesus, of God and of others whom we are to love. As Jesus renews the love within Peter 2000 years ago, Jesus renews the love within all of us today! Can you hear Jesus asking, "Do you love Me?"

Jesus is always with us! Live in His Real Presence with lives of love and for-giveness, prayer and action, following Him through each and every day!! Say, "Jesus, let me show my love for You today in all those I meet." He will indeed send us every grace to do so.

This Tuesday, April 12, 6:30 pm Archbishop Jackels celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Joseph the Worker. Everyone is welcome to attend.

In the Easter Season, we elect new members to our Pastoral Councils and Faith Formation Commissions. If you or someone you know is interested in serving God in this way, please contact me at the parish office. It is time for the next generation to become servant leaders, welcoming new life in the Church, The Body of Christ!

Easter Blessings upon you, Fr. Gabriel

During this Year of Mercy, Pope Francis calls us to live out the corporal works of mercy. Catechists and religious educa-tion students from all Dubuque area Catholic parishes will be working together to live out the corporal work of mercy of feeding the hungry. Throughout the month of April, all reli-gious education students will be collecting coins to cover the cost of packag-ing meals for Kids Against Hunger — 4000 meals to be exact! To reach this goal, a total of $1000 needs to be collected! Upon completion of the April coin collection, the catechists will gather on May 11th to fast from their evening meal, to pray for those who struggle with feeding their families, and to package 4000 meals for Kids Against Hunger.

Do you know a student in the St. Joseph the Worker Religious Education Program?

Consider giving an RE student some of the coins from your pocket or purse to go towards our Coins for Kids collection!

St. Columbkille Parish presents a teaching and exposition of Sacred Relics on Saturday, April 23 at 6:00 pm in Presentation Hall. Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be here with his very special ministry to teach about these holy objects. He will bring with him over

150 relics, some as old as 2000 years. Among the treasures will be relics of St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux (the “Little Flower"), St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Faustina Kowalska. In addition, there will also be present a portion of the veil of Our Lady, as well as one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. Those in attendance will be able to examine and venerate each relic. In the Church’s history, many mira-cles and healings have been worked in the presence of relics, and many have been healed through this ministry. Please do not miss this opportunity. You are encouraged to bring your articles of devotion (such as rosaries, holy cards, etc.) and pictures of ill friends/family members which you will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession.

They donate a percentage of your purchase to the Fair Trade Fund which is then recycled into development grants overseas and here in the US. When you purchase fair trade products, you are living our Gospel call to care for the poor and you are standing in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world. You can purchase during one of our sales after masses, through the parish of-fice, or by calling one of the coordinators. (Diane 608-568-3493 or Ann 563-556-1466)
