Treat your profile with the same respect you would your resume... if not more. (But that doesn’t mean it is your resume.)
Create your profile in a word processing template. Format, edit and spell check it here before copying it into LinkedIn.
Keep in mind those people you want to find you... What are they looking for? Does your profile include keywords they’d search for? Do you have information that compels them to contact you?
