    BFPISACADEMICENDEAVOURBFPIShasbeenextremelybusyconcentratingmoreonacademicprogressofstudentsas it was the end of term. BFPIS conducted first term examination for all classessuccessfullyasitturnedouttobeafruitfulopportunityforstudentswhogottoknowtheirweakareas.Most importantly teachersmaderemedialplansafterevaluating theacademicprogressofward.Werealise,however,thateventhebestdesignedtestsandexaminationsareable toevaluateonly limitedareasof a studentsdevelopment, andweare, therefore, constantly looking formoreeffectiveways toassessandreportontheoverallprogressofstudents.

The toddlers of class KG1 and KG2 also contributed in making thiscelebration a success through an activity of card making. All of our young talentedstudentsmadebeautifulcardsfortheirrespectedteachers.

    YELLOWCOLORDAYJUBILATIONKGstudentscelebratedYellowDayatBFPISwhichultimatelyaddedasmileormoretothechildrensmonotonousroutine.Theschoolwasdecoratedwitheverythingyellowand the teachers and students were also dressed in the same colour. The studentslookedsuperbintheirredoutfitsandwereengagedindifferentactivities.Thechildrenbrought their favourite yellow things suchas toys, flowers etc.Thedaywas eventfulwith activities such as arts and crafts activities as studentswere engaged inmakingheadbands,paintingandhandprinting.Withcelebrations,theconceptofYellowcolourwasexplainedtothestudents.Theeventwasthoroughlyenjoyedbyoneandall.

    WORLDSCULTURALDAYBFPIS is a multicultural institute, encompassing students from over 39 differentnationalities.Topromote love andharmonyamongst all BFPIS arrangedaWORLDSCULTURALDAYonOctober21,2014forjuniorschooltopromotetheideaofculturaldiversity among its students. The studentswere dressed beautifully and in completesyncwith theculture theywererepresenting.Thesights, sounds, smellandattiresofmanychildrenengagedinCulturalDaywasquiteavistaformanypeople.Studentswerealso entertained by the traditional music of various cultures.They also presentedseveral cultural songs which reflected their culture and its values.Showcasing thetypical outfit, traditional food items, important musical instruments, and handmadearts and crafts of different nationalities, the children enjoyed various interactiveactivities. As part of the cultural activity, the students alongwith teachers preparedposters and colorful displays of the various ethnic groups and their cultural aspectsthatmakethemunique.

    PROFESSIONDAYThe Junior Wing of BFPIS recently organized a lovely event on November 25,2014calledProfessionDay. The objective of this programwas to enlighten the studentswithknowledgeaboutdifferentprofessionsinreallife,theirtaskandtorespectallofthem. Little students were asked to dress up as their future professions. Theprofessions they dressed up ranged from nurses, lawyers, engineers to doctors. Thekids showed great pride and enthusiasm in showing off their lovely costumes andtellingeveryonewhotheyareandwhattheydid.Itwasacolorfulandlearningactivityforstudentsandinculcatedtheloveandrespectofallthedifferentprofessionalfieldsoflife.

    TEACHERSTRAININGSTRAININGWORKSHOPONCOMMUNICATIONSKILLSWorkshopsarevery important forteacherstraining. Itallowsteacherstocontinuetolearn,practicenewskills andwork towardsahighereducationalpractice.Workshoprelated toCommunicationSkills was conductedbyRoisinBailey on25thOctober2014. Roisin Bailey is an expatriate, a TESOL/TOEFL qualified corporatecommunicationsprofessional. Its aim toenlighten teachers about the communicationskills in classroom as it hopes to solve problems in teaching and learning process.Itwas an interactive program in which training was carried out through innovativetechniques.Teachersweretoldabouta lotofstrategiesthatcouldhelpthemincreasetheirefficiencyandmethodstoadoptinordertodealwithreallifeclassroomproblemsthat could come up as a result of lack of effective communication. It was a veryinsightful and interactive segment which raised the participants' awareness of theimportanceofeffectivecommunicationskills.

    SEMINARWORLDDAYOFREMEMBRANCEFORROADTRAFFICVICTIMSORGANIZEDBYMINISTRYOFINTERIORAccidentisjustfatemisnamed,andfateisfraughttohappen.However,refrainingfromitcanbebroughtintoconsciousnessandapparently,inthecontemporaneousera,isnotmuchbackbreaking.InregardstothepleasureofjoiningtheappreciatedPublicRelationsDepartmentoftheMinistryInterior'sseminar,BFPIS alsopunched intheeventasschoolcoordinator,transportation incharge and headboy were warmly welcomed by the organizer, TrafficDepartment. "Pedestriansafety;everybody'sresponsibility"was the topicsuperintendedby the aforementioned department, conducted at the Traffic Department Headquarters onSunday, 16thNovember, 2014, in respect of the "WORLD DAY OF REMEMBRANCE FORROADTRAFFICVICTIMS".Ourteam,subsequently,wasinaufaitofthecauses,consequencesandthedetrimentstothemostvictimednationalities.Furthermore,theywereaddressedthestrictand imperativemeasurestoabideby,whenonce intraffic.Theseminaraimedtooutspread the objectives further to every constituent member of a school, from students; toadministration; to teachers; and to domestic staff.Successful, they were on their respectedvirtues.EMPOWERINGSTAFF:TEACHERSTRAININGSBYEDEXCELBrightFuturePakistaniInternationalSchooltakesgreatprideinassertingthatitsfacultyisofthe highest available caliber and is adequately prepared to handle all the difficulties thatstudentsmayfaceduringtheirstudies.Inordertoassurethatthefacultymaintainsthislevelofperfectionandalsotofamiliarizethemwiththemoderntechniquesofteaching,teachersofBFPISattendedvariousworkshopsandseminarsaimedtoenhancetheirabilitiesthroughouttheyear.IntheMonthofNovember,afewteacherstookpartinatrainingprogramthatwashosted by Edexcel. On November 11,Mr.AliAkbar andMr.Asim took part in a trainingworkshopwhichaimedtointroduceteacherstotheconceptofassessmentandimplementingpositive change in teaching and learning.On November 13, Boys coordinator and alsoChemistry teacher Mr.Shahid Mehmood took part in a training program intended atunderstanding assessment and effective delivery for KS5 Chemistry.On November 18,Ms.Wajeeha alsomade an appearance to aworkshop focusedon the strategies in order toimprove the understanding of assessment and delivery of lectures for KS5 Physics.SuchtrainingsessionsattendedbyBFPISfacultywilldefinitelycreateapositiveattitudeamongtheteacherswhichwillinturnleadtoamoreprogressivefuturefortheschool.

    HERIOTWATTUNIVERSITYVISITSBFPISBFPISinvitedHeriotWattUniversitytointeractwiththeALevel andFScstudentsofBFPIS onOctober27,2014.RepresentativefromHeriotWattUniversityconducted aninformation session.He gave out information about their admission criteria andprocedures,andthe livingexpenses.Students foundthesessionvery informativeandtherepresentativealsogaveaverypositivefeedback.

    INTERSCHOOLQUIZCOMPETITIONIndian Womens Association (affiliated with Indian Cultural Centre) backed up byIndianEmbassy,hostedthe18thInterSchoolQuizcompetitionatBirlaPublicSchoolonOctober30,2014. Numerous students from diverse and prestigious educationalinstitutions inQatar took interestand tuned in to thecontest.Selectivestudents fromthree standards VII, VIII and IX of BFPIS also volunteered to participate in theevent.They participated in preliminary round of the quiz. The quiz aimed to test thewide range of topics including Literature, Science, Geography, Sports, Music andCurrent International Affairs etc. The students were provided with printed answersheetswhilethequestionsweredisplayedonmultimedia.Undoubtedly,itwasasightoftremendousdelightandmatterofpridetohavestudentsofBFPIStakepart inthisremarkableevent.Itisamilestonefortheschool.

    ORIENTATIONSESSIONGRADEVIIIAnorientationsessionwasorganisedbyBFPISforthestudentsofClassVIIIandtheirparentson8thNovember2014.Theorientationwasorganisedtohelpparentsbecomemoreinvolvedintheirchild'seducation,careerandfuture.Theeventaimedtohelpstudentsavoidmakingirrationalchoicesandendingupwiththe wrong subject combinations.As the emphasis was on the Class VIII students astageatwhichstudentsnotonlyhavetooptbetweenFederalBoardofIntermediate&SecondaryEducationIslamabadandEdexcelLondonBoardStreamofStudiesbutalsohave to choose a subject combination.The event consisted of a detailed multimediapresentation that explained the pros and cons of choosing either Edexcel orMatriculationanddetailedthecareerfieldsassociatedwitheverysubjectcombination.ThesessionwasconductedbyAcademic & Career Counselor Ms. Hijab Mazhar, w h o g a v e a detailedpresentationregardingsubjectchoice,selectioncriteriaandfutureeducation.All the questions of the parents and studentswere answered sothat they could make an informed decision.     BFPISVISTISTOPAKISTANNAVYSHIPOn 12thNovember 2014, the students and teachers of our school Bright FuturePakistaniInternationalSchoolweregiventheopportunitytotourPakistannavyship,which visited Doha, Qatar port. The captain of the ship, Mister Muhammad MasudAkram, sent a formal invitation letter to the Principal, who was amenable to theirrequest. Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT stayed at Doha port from 9th to 13th November,2014. .Theshipwasabout130meterslong .Adelegationof36studentsfromclassesAS,A2,FScI&IIalongwithschoolteachersjoinedanextremelyexcitingventure.Uponarrivaltothedesignatedlocation,theshipslieutenants,Mr.HaseebandMr.Khurramreceivedthemandescortedthemthroughouttheirstay.Thestudentsweredividedintotwogroupseachledbyalieutenantandateacher.Theguidesshowedthestudentsandteachersaroundtheshipandinformedthemabouttheproceduresandactivitiesthatoccurred.Someofsiteswhichwereobservedbythestudentsincludedtheviewofthesurface to spacemissile, theonboardhelicopterandanexclusivevisitof thecontrolroom. The students gained insight of the internal operations of an army ship andlearned about the experiences of our countrys navy. At the end of the journey, thecaptain of ship greeted his guests. All in all, they had a profitable and enjoyableexperience.

    WALKWORLDDIABETESDAYDiabetes is a serious issue faced by many people around the world due to whichgovernmentandnongovernmentorganizationsareworkinghard to raise awarenesstopreventthespreadofthisdiseaseandalsotoensurethatpeoplecurrentlysufferingfromdiabetesarereceivingthepropertreatment.Withtheaimoflearning,moreabouttheroleofhealthy lifestyleinpreventingandcombatingdiabetes,BFPIStookpart inan annual walkathon on 14th November 2014.This initiative was organized byLandmark Group under the patronage of Qatar Diabetes Association tocommemorateWorldDiabetesDay. Students fromBFPISwereescortedwithhealthcoordinatorofBFPISnamedDr.Nazishalongwithsomeotherschool.Thiswalktaughtthestudentstheimportanceofaddinghealthyactivitiestotheirdailyroutineandalsoshowed them the negative aspects of diabetes. Now these students can convey theknowledgegainedtoallthepeopleintheirliveswhichcanpromotehealthyliving.

    INTERHOUSEQIRATANDNAATCOMPETITIONToinfuseatruespiritofIslamandtoinstillanardentlovefortheHolyProphet(Peacebeuponhim)aninterhouseNaataswellasaQiratcompetitionwasorganizedatBFPISonNovember19,2014.Thegatheringwasjeweledbytheworthypresenceofanhonorabledignity,Mrs.IrumNazia,who has beenworking in the institution for the past 13 years as SeniorUrduTeacher. The events started off with the recitation of the Holy Quran and then, thebackboneoftheinstitution,PrincipalMr.ImranWaheedgaveawelcomespeechtothestudentsmotivatingthemtodotheirbest.DuringtheeventreligiouseminenceoffaithinAllahandProphetMohammad(PBUH)washighlightedandrevivedwhichencouragedloyaltytowardsIslamandenlightenedtheheartsoftheyoungbloodwithlovefortheirreligion.Thestudentsexpressedtheiraweinspiring talents in the contestwith immensezeal andenthusiasm.They recitedtheir most cherished verses from the sacred book, the Quran and naats in theirphenomenal voices filled with the spirit of love. Ambassador of Pakistan H.E. Shahzad Ahmad, who is also theChairman of the PEC Board of Governors, graced the occasion as the chief guest.PhilippineAmbassadorMr.CrescentealongwithRelationandDeputyHeadofMissionatPalestineEmbassyYehiaZElAghaattendedthefunctionasguestsofhonour.Thesplendiddisplayof instinctiveabilities, innovative ideas, latent talent,andpersuasivewritingandoratoricalskillsbyallthecontenderskeptalmosteveryonepresentgluedto their seats. The event saw nailbiting competition in humorous speech, poetryrecital,storytellingandessaywritingcategories.Thecompetitionswereadjudgedbyneutral adjudicators, comprising journalists and educationists from InternationalHouse,BritishCouncilandQatarUniversity.In the humorous speech contest, an outstanding student from our school, AyeshaAbdulQuddusfromAS/LclinchedTHIRDposition.Taking part in such competitions boosts the confidence of students, develops keeninterest invariousactivities,andmostofall, it sharpenscommunicationskills,whichplayapivotalroleinfutureendeavors.

    MENTALMATHS:MathematicianofTomorrowKeeping up with tradition, BFPIS does not only concentrate on academics, but alsobelieves in enhancing the skills of its students. Therefore,the only way to excel atmental maths is to constantly practice it. Students of BFPIS were given a chance tosharpen theirmathsskills.Acompetitionwasarranged for themby themathematicsfacultyonNovember25,2014. The competitionwasdesigned to challenge and testthe analytical skills of Class IVVIII students.The students participated with greatinterest and vigour.The broad purpose of the activity was to teach students theimportance ofmentalmaths and to improve their concentration, listening skills, selfconfidence, comprehension, calculation capabilities,memory, observation and logicalthinkingskills.Thesecontestsgavethestudentsampleopportunitiesnotonlytoprovetheirmathematicalskills,butbuildtheirconfidenceaswell.

    BFPISSPORTSACHIEVEMENTWiththehealthconcernsrisinginQatar,itseemslikeeveryoneisontheruntogetfit.But with the students of Bright Future Pakistani School, the scene is quite differentactually.TheyseemtohavetobeenBORNFIT!StartingfromOctoberupuntilNovember,BFPIShasorganizedexhilaranteventstotestthestudentsphysical fitness.TheseeventswereorganizedbyBFPISsports teachers,Mrs.Zohra, Mr.Naseem and Mr.Osman. Various matches were played among all fourhouses.And theheatbetween themwas intensewhere the enthusiasmof the crowdwasveryhardtomiss.Butintheendtherehadtobejustonewinner.Andso,afterawhole lot of cheering and cries of support and four agonizing rounds among ourathletes,thewinnerwaspresented.OutofthefourgamesofHandball,BasketballandThrowball,Redhousewon twoof thegames in the finalwhereasBluehousegainedvictory inone.All studentsreallydidworksuperhard inall thesegamesandwillberewardedwithcertificatesinthecomingdays.IntheSchoolOlympicsprogramsthattookplaceamongalltheschoolsandcollegesinQatar all year round, our brilliant students scoredmighty results. In Basketball, andFootball, the primary and secondary teams made it to the finals whereas; theelementary teamsmade it to thesecondroundof thehandballgameandhaveyet toplay it.Ourschoolalso stood fifthoutofmore than120schools in thecrosscountryracethattookplaceinthelastweekofOctober.Even after all these achievements in the sports industry, if you still put in lazy orslackingawordforthesebeyondhardworkingstudents,thenyoucertainlyneedtogetanewdictionarybecausethatwordisfarfromwheretheyare.Morelikeablebodiedandsturdy.
