Once again I’d like to thank you onbehalf of our staff for your expressionof love through the Christmas StaffLove Offering! Not only through theoffering, but through your cards, gifts,and goodies, you are so wonderful tolove on us! There’s not a betterchurch than 3BC and we love you!

It’s hard to believe that it’s 2015! So Iwant to ask you…how are you askingGod to work in your life for His gloryin 2015? Are you asking God to workin your life in 2015? I know I am.Here are 3 areas that the Lord hasbrought to my mind for our church:

1) That we would see more peoplecome to faith in our Lord Jesus Christthrough our church,

2) That we would see more peoplepraying daily,

3) That we would be a more effectivewitness to our “baseball diamond”.

You’ll hear much more about these 3things this month as I lay out somestrategies for how we’ll try toaccomplish these things.

Third Baptist Church is first the Lord’schurch, then it’s our church. Becauseit is our church, we all play a role inbeing an instrument in our Lord’shand for reaching the lost and

discipling the saints. You are not at3BC by accident. The Holy Spiritbrought you here. Now each of usmust find our place, use the gifts ourLord has given us, and go to work.

I really believe that 2015 will be theyear we look back on and say, “That’swhen God started His work in us thatspread out all over RutherfordCounty!” Are you praying that? I am!Our county needs Jesus. People needto hear the gospel! Will we fulfill ourcalling to be salt and light?

As we begin 2015, may our Lord domore than we could ever ask orimagine (Ephesians 3:20-21) so thatwe can be a church that’s HelpingPeople Discover a Life Worth Living in Jesus!

3BC will recognize the worldwideSanctity of Human Life Sunday, which isplanned for Sunday, January 18, 2015.Our church will participate in the Portico(formerly Pregnancy Support Center)Baby Bottle Campaign raising much-needed supplies for this wonderfulorganization and ministry. Super Bowl Home FellowshipsReady For The Big GameSunday, February 1There’s an old joke about a large tourgroup that planned to visit Nashville inDecember and was looking for somethingentertaining to do. They contacted theTennessee Titans marketing people toinquire, on the slim chance, that theycould purchase such a large number ofseats. They were pleasantly surprised tofind, even on such short notice, therewere indeed enough seats available, andeven better—all together! The tour groupevent planner, needing to coordinateschedules then asked, “What time willthey be kicking off?” to which the Titansmarketing person replied, “What timecould you be here?”

Well, it’s not really all that bad, but yetanother season has come and gone withno hope of watching our hometownTitans playing in the big game. But there’sstill plenty to look forward to as 3BChappily announces another awesomeyear of Super Bowl Home Fellowships,Sunday, February 1 (times to beannounced). Northernerssadly do not get to experience theexcitement and organized chaos thatensues when the white stuff is forecastedfor middle Tennessee, something welocals like to call— snowcastrophy! From wrestling competitions in the dairysection of the local grocer over the lastcouple gallons of milk, to the creativeitems such as rocks, sand bags andabandoned kitchen applianceshaphazardly placed in the back of pickuptrucks for better traction, snow inTennessee brings out the basic survivalinstincts of every self-respectingSoutherner.
