Polythiols
THIOCURE®
THIOCURE® Polythiols for your benefitBased on our feedstock of mercapto carboxylic acids we have
introduced a series of polythiol products as reactive agents
in coatings, adhesives and sealants under the trade name
THIOCURE. Our THIOCURE product series represents a group
of solvent free multifunctional mercapto compounds with a
wide variety of viscosities and reactivities. Depending on the
nature of the THIOCURE compound the mechanical prop-
erties of the final product can be adjusted. In addition the
high sulfur content leads to coatings and adhesives with high
refractive indices.
Our THIOCURE products can be used in combination with
conventional epoxy, isocyanate and unsaturated systems.
They also show good performance as chain-transfer agents
(CTAs) in radical polymerizations.
THIOCURE® Customer Support Our Technical Service Center supports you in the development
of new formulations for use in coatings, adhesives, sealants or
optical applications. Thanks to many years of experience in these
fields we can quickly provide solutions to our customer’s pro-
blems and answer technical questions related to our products.
Benefit from our expertise and state-of-the-art technical and
laboratory equipment by contacting us with your questions!
THIOCURE® Customized Products In addition to our standard portfolio of THIOCURE polythiols
we manufacture tailor-made products for your application
from lab to industrial scale.
We are open for your ideas!
THIOCURE® Polythiols – highly reactive – solvent free – low viscosity – colorless
Epoxy Systems
THIOCURE Polythiols serve as curing agents for epoxy
resins in solvent free coatings, sealing compounds,
floor coatings and repair composites for the construc-
tion sector. The addition of THIOCURE allows formu-
lation of low temperature curing systems with lower
yellowing tendencies and adjustable flexibilities.
Thiol-ene Systems
In combination with unsaturated hydrocarbons
THIOCURE Polythiols react via UV or thermal initiated
radical addition („thiol-ene reaction“) showing high
reaction rates with double bonds. Thiol-ene systems
show lower shrinkage and no oxygen inhibition in
combination with adjustable flexibility compared to
standard unsaturated systems in coatings or adhesives.
Isocyanate Systems
THIOCURE Polythiols can be applied as main binder
or reactive thinner in combination with isocyanates
resulting in coatings, adhesives or castings with less
sensitivity against humidity in the drying phase and
improved UV resistance. The high refractive indices
of THIOCURE products enable fabrication of brilliant
surfaces and optical lenses.
