Het Nieuwe Instituut & Municipality Eindhoven What important questions are not being asked enough? - what is and what isn’t smart? - who uses what technologies? - who is and isn’t actually participating? - who can or should take responsability for what level of services when the municipality steps back? - what do citizens want of their city? & how to find out? - what happens when new kinds data become part of the language of policy and technology? - which realities are caught in data and which aren’t?
To ground those questions, we focus on Woensel-Noord
Woensel-Noord is partly unique (Philipswijk)…
…but also a proxy for a large part of the Dutch urban landscape.

It became clear that central to all questions was the nature, availability and quality of data. Therefor we started The DATAStudio in which we use and explore a wide variety of data practices to get a grip on relations between technology and participation in Woensel- Noord (read: the city…)
