Two Devices in One

eVol consists of two devices:

• A digitally controlled electronic device

• An XCHANGE enabled analytical syringe

The integrated XCHANGE coupling allows syringes to be quickly and

easily changed, giving exceptional versatility and functionality.

The Thermo Scientific XCHANGE syringe can also be coupled to the

MEPS (Micro Extraction by Packed Sorbent) technology to offer an

automated solution to sample preparation in a handheld device.

eVol will improve accuracy and confidence in the laboratory

workflow in many ways.

Precision in Sample Dispensing

Thermo Scientific eVol is programmable to reproducibly and accurately

perform a wide variety of liquid handling procedures.

Analytical syringes can be used in place of pipettors when dispensing

solvents and other non-aqueous liquids. Coupling an analytical

syringe to an electronic device leads to greater accuracy and

reproducibility when handling such substances.

For laboratories that need to repeatedly dispense non-aqueous liquids,

eVol™ is unlike other laboratory dispensing devices. By coupling an

analytical syringe to an electronic device, the result is a unique

hand-held digital dispenser that can be easily calibrated to accurately

and precisely dispense liquids independent of the user’s skills.

The programming functions are intuitive and include help screens and prompts.

Coupling Device for XCHANGE Syringes

The coupling device enables the simple changing between differentvolume syringes. This is a simple push-up device which contains amagnetic piece which holds the syringe firmly in place.

Range of XCHANGE Syringe Volumes

The eVol system is supplied with three syringes in different volumes.As the device can be programmed to aspirate and dispense desiredvolumes, there is no need for additional syringes in different volumes.

Coupling to MEPS (Micro Extraction by Packed Sorbent)

Thermo Scientific MEPS can easily be coupled to the XCHANGEsyringe technology to give an automated sample preparation technique in a handheld device.

World’s First User Calibrated Analytical Syringe

To comply with stringent laboratory standards (e.g. GLP, GMP, FDA),

eVol is easily calibrated to ensure accurate dispensing at all times.

A gravimetric calibration procedure is used which is simple,

intuitive and can be performed at appropriate intervals. The calibration

factors for up to ten XCHANGE syringes can be stored in the

device. These calibration factors are quickly loaded when the

syringe is changed.

Precise User-independent Dispensing

eVol is an ideal solution for accurately aspirating and dispensing

both aqueous and non-aqueous liquids. This gives benefits over

traditional air-displacing devices such as pipettors, which have

problems in handling some substances.

eVol features a Touch Wheel user interface and a full-color screen.

The menu allows easy access of all the functions associated with

the device. eVol can easily be programmed to desired aspirating

and dispensing volumes using the help screens and prompts.
