Natural compound ready to use for indoor and outdoor, suitable to realize thermal and acoustic lightened screeds. MIXING Mix the product in a concrete mixer adding 12-15 lt of water per bag of Diathonite for Screed used (25 kg). Mix for about 4-5 minutes. It is fundamental not to exceed mixing time. Do not mix the product by hand. The amount of water indicated on the packaging is merely indicative. It is possible to obtain more or less fluid mixture depending on the application. Never add antifrost products, cement or aggregates. APPLICATION 1. It is FUNDAMENTAL to wet the sub-strate, particularly during summer time. 2. Prepare the area creating reference bands to obtain the required thicknesses (points and reference bands must be created with Diathonite for Screed with an inter-axial distance not higher than 2 m). The screed must have a minimun thickness of 5 cm. 3. Where the screed thickness is smaller (for example where there are piping) use a reinforcement mesh (metal or fibre glass). 4. Apply the product following the traditional method for screed. Prop and smooth to obtain a perfectly even surface. 5. The maximum thickness that can be realized with one coat is 6 cm. For higher thicknesses lay the screed in two coats of equal thickness. 6. Diathonite for Screed can be applied using traditional pumps for screed. ADVANTAGES • Insulation against cold and heat (it is the only product that acts as cold-insulation thanks to the cork and as warmth-insulation thanks to the stone) • Highly breathable • Fire resistant • Very fast application system (by plastering pump). APPLICATION FIELDS Ready to use screed for indoor and outdoor. Suitable to realize thermal screed for residential buildings, public buildings, hotels, conference rooms and all those places that need to be insulated from the rooms below. YIELD 6 kg/m 2 (±5%) per cm of thickness. COLOUR Grey. PACKAGING 25 kg paper bags. Pallet: n° 50 paper bags (1250 kg). STORAGE If stored in dry places on pallet the storage time is 12 months. If stored on site, it must be protected from sun, water, ice, at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. PREPARATION OF SUPPORT • Sub-strate must be completely hardened, dry and resistant. • The surface must be thouroughly clean, well consolidated, without debris or detaching parts. • Sub-strate temperature must be comprised between +5°C e +35°C. APPLICATION in combination with sound proofing mat Diafon 1. Lay Diafon mats over the surface to cover with the

synthetic film facing upwards. 2. Remove the adhesive and seal the mats overlapping

them of 40/50 mm to realize a continuous soundproofing layer. The surface must be completely covered.

3. Diafon mat must be skirted over the wall to avoid the formation of acoustic bridges between the floor and the structure of the building. The height of the skirting must be higher than the finished floor, the skirting angle must 90°.

4. Apply Diathonite for Screed as stated in paragraph “Application”, with a minimum thickness of 5 cm, using in case an electro-welded mesh.

5. Lay the floor (ceramic, marble or parquet flooring) using a suitable glue.

6. Cut Diafon over the paved surface. 7. Lay the skirting board without putting it into contact

with the floor.

DRYING TIME At 20°C and with relative humidity level of 40%, the product dries 15/20 days. • Drying time is influenced by humidity level and

temperature and may significantly change. • Protect Diathonite for Screed while curing from ice,

direct sun light and wind to avoid successive cracks. • With high temperature, direct sunlight or strong wind it

is necessary to wet the plaster even 2/3 times a day for the next 2/3 days after the application.

• Once the application has been completed, to avoid damages before the application of the screed, the screed must not be subjected to pedestrian traffic or to heavy loads.

• It can be directly paved with ceramic, terracottas, gres, clincker or floating parquet.

• The screed can be coated even with glued parquet after at least 28 days of curing. Before lay the parquet, levigate the surface with a sanding disks machine and apply a consolidating antidust primer (such as WATstop). WATstop must be applied with a coverage of 1,0 kg/m2 to floor in contact with the ground, with a coverage of 0,6 kg/m2 to floor not in contact with the ground. • Diathonite for Screed can be coated with liquid waterproofin (such as Acriflex Fybro, Acriflex Winter) or with Diasen coatings (Floorgum Paint, Oriplast Reflex, Oriplast, Epokoat, Polikoat) without using a primer. • Diathonite for Screed is not suitable to place underfloor heating system.

SUGGESTIONS • Temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C. • During summer season, apply the product during the cooler hours of the day, away from sun. • If applied outdoor, do not apply with imminent threat

of rainwater or ice, in condition of strong fog or with relative humidity level higher than 70%.

• Application time is about 20-30 minutes, but it may change depending on temperature and ventilation.

• Outside it is very important to create suitable dilation joints at regular intervals (i.e. 4 x 4 = 16 m2; 4 x 5 = 20 m2; 5 x 5 = 25 m2). Joints must be properly realized to avoid cracks and lesions on the final coat.

• If Diathonite for Screed is laid over wide surfaces (higher than 60m2) it is necessary to realize joints also indoor.

CLEANING Wash tools with water before product hardening. SAFETY For the handling, see product safety data sheet.
