Themes to be incorporated into the video (Wretch 32 ft Haydon – Me and You)

The main themes that will most likely be present within our production of this music video will be:

• Love (or Infatuation), Romance & Affection

• Happiness & Fun (Positive tone)

Reasons to these specific themes• The themes affiliated with romance and affection would need to be

incorporated into the video as the song is generally very romantic and passionate. The title being ‘Me and You’ already implies significance to the relationship of the main characters to the video, and therefore their relationship needs to be portrayed as so within the video and not appear bland, dull and insignificant instead.

• The video will likely happen to subvert typical feats to a music video of this genre (hip hop, R&B, Grime). This is because in numerous videos within this genre, specifically grime, there happens to be a much darker and mellow feel to the songs whereas in this song it is much more positive, cheery and upbeat. Another typical factor to videos within these genres are perhaps the type of characters within the videos. The main male protagonist may normally tend to appear very powerful, dominant and somewhat tough and intimidating, whilst the woman would appear much more passive and perhaps only of visual significance. Therefore the man would have much more importance to the video. However with this one, although the actual main character would ultimately be the performer playing the artist (Wretch 32), the woman is still on equal levels to him due to what she means to the main artists (this connoted by lyrics and title).

• The song on a whole has a very positive feel to it and therefore the video should feel the same. Bright, vivid and vibrant colours would perhaps be best to use and fit in with the overall themes and concepts to it, as they would help to portray and illustrate the positive and happy tone to the video. The video may be shot in daylight and sunny scenery; with a peaceful and fun atmosphere so events that take place through the video would likely be more positive and nice.

• A sense of a Journey and Togetherness will also perhaps be a concept that complements and assists the theme of affection as the two protagonists will likely happen to always stay together, wherever they go, emphasizing upon the fact that they are in love & infatuated by the other. Their journey they go through (regardless of how minute or drastic, and figurative or literal it is) will also help to present the significance of their relationship as the bond of the two characters cant be broken no matter of the path they take it through.
