THEME FOR THE CHURCH YEAR – October 2015 – September 2016 –
Being God’s People in God’s World: Living the Sacrificial Life –
Giving Freely; Serving Fully: Living Faithfully
Ascended Lord Jesus, we adore you! Once you lived a human life subject to the limitations of time:
now you are the same yesterday, today and forever. Once you were limited to one particular place:
now you are present wherever people turn to you. Once only those who met you face to face knew you: now your divine love extends through all the world.
Jesus, ascended Lord of time and space, love as wide as life,
we adore you! [From Contemporary Prayers]

CALL TO WORSHIP
HYMN OF PRAISE -No. 1 - No. 76 You servants of God, Your Master proclaim
1. You servants of God, Your Master proclaim,
And publish abroad His wonderful name;
The name all-victorious of Jesus extol;
His kingdom is glorious, and rules over all.
2. God rules in the height, Almighty to save;
though hid from our sight, His presence we have;
The great congregation His triumph shall sing,
Ascribing salvation to Jesus our king.
3. ‘Salvation to God Who sits on the throne,"
Let all cry aloud, and honour the Son;
The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim,
Fall down on their faces, and worship the Lamb.
4 Then let us adore, and give him his right,
All glory and power, all wisdom and might,
All honour and blessing- with angels above-
And thanks never ceasing, and infinite love. [Charles Wesley – 1788]: PRAYER OF ADORATION & THANKSGIVING RESPONSIVE READING No. 668
Leader- Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
People- keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.
Leader- Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
People- The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
Leader- the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
People- The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
All - The Lord is close to the broken-hearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit
SONGS OF WORSHIP A. Sing praises unto God, sing praises
Sing praises unto God, sing praises, Hallelujah! [rept.
For God is our King over all the earth
Sing praises unto Him with understanding. So clap your hands and shout, all ye people
For he is to be praised, to be praised
When trouble in your life, sing praises
When trouble in your life, sing praises, Hallelujah! [rept.
For God is our King……………….to be praised!
B. The splendor of the King, clothed in majesty,
Let all the earth rejoice, let all the earth rejoice.
He wraps Himself in light and darkness tries to hide;
It trembles at His voice, it trembles at His voice.
How great is our God! Sing with me, ‘How great is our God’!
And all will see how great, how great is our God!
Age to age He stands, and time is in His hands;
Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End.
The Godhead, three in one, Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb, the Lion and the Lamb.
How great is our God! Sing with me, ‘How great is our God!’
And all will see how great, how great is our God!
Name above all names, [you are] worthy of all praise;
[And] my heart will sing, ‘How great is our God!’

you have fulfilled all your promise to me

all you have been you for ever will be.
Chorus:
Great is your faithfulness! Great is your faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed your hand has provided;
Great is your faithfulness, Father, to me!
2. Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in eloquent witness,
To your great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Your living presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
These are the blessings your love will provide.

SPECIAL ITEM Bethel Dance Troupe MESSAGE – Mrs Yvonne Soares
HYMN OF REPONSE - No. 3 - # 577 – Lord, thy Church on earth is seeking
1. Lord, Thy Church on Earth is seeking
Thy renewal from above;
Teach us all the art of speaking
With the accent of Thy love.
We would heed Thy great commission;
"Go ye into every place;
Preach, baptize, fulfill My mission,
Serve with love and share My grace."
2. Freedom give to those in bondage,
Lift the burdens caused by sin;
Give new hope, new strength and courage,
Grant release from fears within.
Light for darkness, joy for sorrow;
Love for hatred, peace for strife.
These and countless blessings follow
As the Spirit gives new life.
3. In the streets of every city
Where the bruised and lonely dwell,
We shall show the Savior's pity,
We shall of His mercy tell.
In all lands and with all races
We shall serve and seek to bring
All the world to render praises,
Christ, to Thee, Redeemer, King. [H Sherlock: 1905: 87 87D]
