Week Beginning 13 th July 2020 Theme Art Can you have a go at making a spiral snake with some paper. Here is an example; Maybe you could also make a snake out of a paper chain? Can you write a list of things you need? Could you draw a picture of an animal you would find in the jungle? How much can you label? Think about those adjectives. Is it a long wavy tail? Could you have a go at making some playdough? (Twinkl recipe sheet attached for jungle slime) What could you make with it? Have you got some objects that can help you make shapes like a pen, scissors, ruler? Science and Computing Thinking about some animals which you would find in the jungle, can you play a game of guess who with your adults? Can they guess which animal you are talking about? Think about what the look like, how they feel, their size and what they eat. Please don’t feel like you have to print all of these and do them, adapt them to how you feel appropriate, these are just ideas! What colours are you going to use for your snake? You could research snakes on the internet to see what colours to use.

• Can you have a go at making a spiral snake with

some paper. Here is an example;

Slimy Jungle SwampPlaydough Recipe

You will need:3 cups cornflour

½ cup washing-up liquid

8-10 cups hot water

Green food colouring

Green glitter

Method1. Mix together the cornflour and water to form a fluid mixture.

2. Heat the mixture in a pan, stirring constantly.

3. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens.

4. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool.

5. Add the washing-up liquid, food colouring and glitter.

6. Place in a large tub and have lots of messy jungle fun!

7. You may wish to add jungle animals or insects to enhance thesensory play.
