Beirut Arab University is one of the top universities
in Lebanon steadily moving forward in the world of

Rules and Regulations
The University applies the credit hour system in all
its programs. Each department in the University’s
faculties assigns an academic advisor who provides
council and guidance to a group of students. The
academic advisor assists in course selection and
helps solve any issues or problems his/her advisees
might encounter throughout their enrollment.
Graduation Requirements
To be eligible for graduation, students must satisfy
the following requirements:

- The completion of studies within a period not exceeding double the standard
study duration to receive a degree in the chosen major.
- The completion of the minimum credit hour requirements for all types of
courses including mandatory courses, elective courses, university courses, and
free courses, etc. required in the major as specified in the curriculum of the
relevant faculty.
- Earning the ICDL certificate within the first four semesters of study.
- The final CGPA grade must be at least 2.00 to attain the relevant academic
degree. Otherwise, students must repeat one or more courses to get their CGPA
up to at least 2.00.

Throughout five decades, Beirut Arab University
has recognized a remarkable development that
allows its libraries to serve academic purposes and
scientific research. BAU has eight libraries which are
distributed over the three campuses:

The Guide
Beirut Campus
Beirut Campus is the main branch, which is located
in the heart of Beirut in Tareek El Jadida. The land
spans an area of 41,107 m² and comprises two
buildings with a total built area of 50,000 m². The
main building has an area of 22,675 m² and is
utilized by BAU administration and the Faculties of
Business Administration and Dentistry. There are a
300 - seat festivities hall, five seminar rooms which
are furnished and equipped with multimedia and
display screens, a specially designed “Al Multaqa”
which is the Center for cultural and art activities,
a Student Activities and Alumni & Career Office
Building, a gymnasium, sports hall, and a cafeteria.
The second building is the 12 - storey Hariri Building
with two basements and a ground floor. It is built
on an area of 27,070 m² and is comprised of five
faculties: Human Sciences, Law & Political Science,
Pharmacy, Medicine, and Health Sciences.

Debbieh Campus
Debbieh Campus is located 33 km from Beirut city.
The land spans an area of 1,353,000 m² and the
total built area is 50,000 m². It comprises three
buildings for the faculties and the administration,
two buildings for student dorms, two buildings for
staff dorms, a mosque, an astronomical observatory,
a bank, a cafeteria, an open theater, and a student
lounge. The Campus is comprised of three Faculties:
Architecture - Design & Built Environment,
Engineering, and Science.

Tripoli Campus
Tripoli Campus is located
in Basateen Al Mina area.
The land spans an
area of 15.540 m²
and the total built
area is 35.594 m².
It comprises an

Center for Consultation
The Center for Consultation (CC) was established in
1998 to create a link between the University and all
sectors within the Lebanese community. The Center
deploys the resources and facilities available at BAU
and offers research, consultancy and quality control
services specific to the needs of organizations and
institutions.
The Center specializes in the following areas:
- Technical and Academic Consultations
- Laboratory Testing and Experimentation.
Academic Development &
Quality Assurance Center
The Center was established in 2007 aiming at
providing a technical support in the field of Quality
Assurance to all constituents of the University and
monitoring the implementation of up-to-date
techniques in teaching, learning and research, as
well as proposing developments of curricula and
assessment methods in accordance with quality
assurance criteria adopted at higher education
institutions.

these main objectives and responsibilities:
- Assisting the University to achieve its mission and vision;
- Monitoring quality assurance at faculties and departments;
- Providing Faculties with technical support related to the assessment of
teaching and learning processes;
- Supporting the educational process through assessing the inputs and outputs
of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the educational process;
- Organizing workshops for teaching and learning;
- Supporting Faculties’ programmes to attain international accreditation.
Media Center
The Media Center was established in 2007 to organize and expand
media training activities at the University for students majoring in Mass
Communication. It seeks to prepare the students for the challenges of the New
Media through becoming a part of the evolution in the fields of Technology and
Globalization. The Media Center aspires to be one of the foremost centers of
mass communication and media production by offering training programs based
on quality education, scientific research, and international broadcast standards.
The Center aims at:
- Increasing technical media skills of Mass Communication students;
- Providing training sessions for people interested in the media domain;
- Serving as the only source of media archives for the University;
- Enhancing the Center’s audio-visual equipment through continuous
upgrading;
- Using the Center as a production house through joint ventures with TVs and
media specialists.

Language Center
The Center was established in 2008 to satisfy the needs of English language
proficiency due to the alteration of the medium of instruction to English and
due to the requirements of the job market, thus satisfying the needs of the local
community.
The Center works on:
- Promoting competence in multi-lingual and intercultural communication;
- Improving students' linguistic competence in English and / or French and
sharpening their skills necessary for academic purposes;
- Participating in local and international conventions, conferences, seminars,
and workshops related to education and language learning;
- Offering scientific and systematic consultations related to educational
techniques and teacher training.
Human Rights Center
The HRC was established in 2009 as a specialized center, independent of all
the faculties and departments at the University, and aims to create a more
harmonious community and to build a better future for youth.
It is a University initiative that assists students, and accordingly their
communities, towards a better understanding of their rights by raising their
awareness through formal and non-formal methods. Thus, students‘ education
is complemented all through their University years, and for years to come.
The Center strives to:
- Collaborate with other national and international institutions and NGOs;
- Achieve its objectives by providing empowerment skills, access to data,
students’ development activities, and communal interaction.

Center For Entrepreneurship
The CFE was established in 2011 as one of BAU’s divisions for social
responsibility. The CFE aims to promote the culture of entrepreneurship through
identifying individuals with entrepreneurial potential, providing them with
relevant input and equipping them with skills.
The Center plays an important role in:
- Helping the University achieve its mission and vision;
- Providing all technical support for the success of presentation of the
submitted projects;
- Spotlighting scientific research in all fields;
- Engaging stakeholders inside and outside BAU.
Research Center for Environment & Development
The RCED was established in 2011 and continues to facilitate research projects
that address aspects and tackle problems of environment and sustainable
development. RCED presumes to play a key role in the monitoring, protection
and conservation of precious Lebanese natural resources and contributing to
their appropriate management approaches. As such, the ecological approach
utilized by RCED treats the social, biological, and physical determinants of
environmental protection as key goals of development.
The Center strives to:
- Conduct applied research to conserve natural resources towards sustainable
use and community development;
- Provide applied research internships for undergraduate and graduate students;
- Stimulate participation in national and international cooperation programs
and interdisciplinary collaborative research networking;
- Establish community outreach programs and engagement activities;
- Enhance environmental community awareness.

Center for Continuing & Professional Education
The CCPE was established in 2014 as one of BAU’s divisions for community
services through lifelong learning.
The Center is:
- Striving to be a leading unit for supporting excellence in life-long learning and
continuing education in Lebanon, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region;
- Enforcing the link between the University and the community and enhancing
the prospects for communication and cooperation between them through the
organization and execution of continuing education courses;
- Contributing to the efforts for a sustainable human development by
employing the capabilities and expertise of the University's academic and
technical disciplines relevant to systems in existing faculties to satisfy the
professional development needs of the community.

Technical Office
The Office was established in 2008 to support BAU's
outcome. It is committed to provide technical
support through reports and publications in
collaboration with academic and non-academic staff.
The Office works on:
- Providing official updated Information about BAU
to both internal and external sectors;
- Enhancing the quality of reports and publications
through following up on the latest trends;
- Pioneering new ideas and collecting necessary
information to make sound decisions in the
implementation of publications;
- Managing photo selection and supervising the
layout and the printing processes;
- Revising and proofreading projects for accuracy,
clarity, and consistency of content;
- Assisting in implementing the Visual Identity inside
the University.
Alumni & Career Office
The Alumni and Career Office was established in 2008
to encourage BAU alumni to remain involved in the
ongoing life of the University and to find ways to
reconnect them to the institution and to each other.

- Establish and cultivate relations with alumni and friends of BAU through
communications, programs, and services;
- Provide volunteer opportunities for alumni to devote some of their time and
talents on behalf of the University and its students;
- Support the fundraising activities and priorities of the University;
- Encourage individual alumni to provide financial support to the University;
- Prepare graduates to move from the learning environment to the professional
environment.
International Relations Office
The IRO was established in 2011 and aims to become an actor in the international
education sphere in Lebanon.
The Office is responsible for:
- Establishing, managing and monitoring cooperation agreements and
international projects with international institutions;
- Supporting exchange programs for students and staff;
- Sustaining relationships with partners and representing the University abroad.
Internal Audit Office
The Office was established in 2011 to evaluate the work of various University
departments and to help them perform their tasks in a better way in consistence
with the University rules and regulations. The Office reports directly to the President.
The Office aims to:
- Support the University Administration by offering reports on the efficiency of
the internal controls and the integrity of transactions;
- Uphold University policies and regulations.
The Office also works with two types of Internal Control:
- Internal Administrative Control: Specializes in reviewing the asset protection
and compliance with the administrative regulations;
- Internal Finance Control: Specializes in monitoring and ensuring compliance
with the financial rules and regulation.

Legal Affairs Office
The LAO was established at BAU in 2015 with the mission of providing a full
range of timely and professional legal counseling, guidance, and advice to
the University on matters related to legal affairs affecting higher education
institutions in Lebanon while striving to minimize legal risk.
The Office is responsible for:
- Providing legal advice;
- Representing BAU;
- Ensuring compliance with Lebanese laws;
- Preparing and reviewing contracts;
- Coordinating legal affairs with various departments at the University.

Website Office
The Office was established in 2016 to improve and develop BAU website.
The Office is responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and testing of BAU Website;
- Assisting in the collection and documentation of user's requirements,
estimates, and work plans;
- Planning, developing, and testing for the entire website life cycle;
- Preparing reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation
and maintenance of software;
- Capturing new knowledge and market trends to keep the website at the
forefront of technology and capability trends;
- Creating internal applications and services to monitor, store, and update data;
- Communicating with the internal parties for updates on daily basis;
- Involving the owners in training sessions in order to understand and use
website features;
- Ensuring that project deliverables are within established budget and on time.

In addition to academic pursuits, extracurricular
activities make up a valuable part of the overall
University experience. Students can develop their
social and interpersonal skills by getting involved in
organizing events and activities.
This will help to improve their teamwork skills
