Kids will become Agency D3 special agents during VBS
2014, Agency D3: Discover. Decide. Defend., as they
collect and log evidence about Jesus.
Using their best high-tech operative skills, they will
examine eyewitness reports, physical proof and biblical
accounts to uncover and defend the truth about who
Jesus really is. By collecting all the evidence, they will
Discover the truth of the gospel; Decide to
believe it; and then Defend that decision.
Kids not only need to know the Bible is
true and that Jesus is God’s one and
only Son, but they need to know how to
defend what they believe when someone
asks them why they believe it.
“But honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready
to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope
that is in you.” I Peter 3:15

What’s happening in FBCH Student Ministry…?
On Sunday, May 18th
we recognized our Graduating Seniors during the
morning worship service. Congratulations to each and every one of
them as they end one big chapter of their lives and move on to the next
thing God has for them. I encourage you to continue to pray for them
and encourage them as they enter this next phase of life.
There is still time to sign up for Camp Siloam. The
week is June 23-27 and the cost is only $100. Registration is now open,
go to www.campsiloam.com. Also, let me know if you are interested in
the St. Louis Project Mission Trip which is July 11-18.
The total cost is $150, and I need your $50 deposit as soon as possible.
In June we are starting our summer schedule for
our student ministry. June 4th we will be having games, activities, and
food here at church to celebrate the end of school and the start of sum-
mer. On June 11th we are taking students to the Springfield
Cardinal game and it will only cost $5. We have 25 tickets avail-
able. June 18th we will plan to have a pool party. The last Wednesday
in June (the 25th) we will not have any activities because that is the
week of Camp Siloam. I am so excited for the summer to get here and
all the activities and fun things that will be happening. I hope you can

FROM CHOIR MEMBER… JEFF MIDDLETON
It happens to all of us: a day at work or school where everything is upside down, spinning from
one crisis to another….people around you are on edge and it’s easier to snap back than walk away or say
something positive. The negatives just feed on themselves. And when you finally have time to take a deep
breath or you finally make it through the day, you don’t feel very Christ-like.
What’s the remedy? Home, a good meal, family time, a book or a movie, play with the dogs, social
networking? Maybe….nothing wrong with any of these, but I have discovered a remarkable cure for
whatever ails me. And it even falls on “Hump Day”!
For me it’s Wednesday night choir practice. Since joining in November, I have discovered that I have a
new family, and this family is made up of folks of every description and some that even defy descrip-
tion! But funny thing is, when we all combine our hearts and voices in worshipping Christ through song,
these amazing differences blend together into amazing harmony! There is a huge amount of laughter, and
sometimes even tears. There is feel good music and feel reverent music. There are songs and solos that
send chills and hair standing. We end with prayer sometimes very personal and specific,
other times quite general. The singing draws us together and the closing prayer locks it
down.
The worse the day or week has been, the more I look forward to Wednesday nights with my
singing family.
It’s good for what ails ya!
Come and see how great Hump Day can be!!

Milligan Family
Celebrate
Merle Milligan’s
90th Birthday
as we will be joining him on a visit to First
Baptist at the Sunday service on June 15th.
While this is just a few weeks early of his ac-
tual birthday (July 7th), we are excited to
celebrate life together as a family and hope
you will send birthday wishes, or a warm
hand shake during this visit. Merle misses his
First Baptist Church family and always looks
forward to his visits. Merle has been a mem-
ber of First Baptist Church for 67 years and
still considers it his church home.

“Unstoppable”
Kirk Cameron
takes you on a personal and
inspiring journey to better
understand the biggest
doubt-raiser in faith:
Why? Kirk goes back to
the beginning—literally—as
he investigates the origins of
good and evil and how they
impact our lives...and our
eternities. Reminding us
that there is great hope,
UNSTOPPABLE,
creatively asks—
and answers — the age-old
question: Where is God in
the midst of tragedy and
suffering?
