Financial Assistance The Y, through financial contributions by concerned citizens and our “Reach Out to Youth Campaign,” makes assistance available for membership and pro-gram scholarships. Inquiry by interested persons may be made of any members of the staff at the Y and steps will be taken to see that assistance is provided.

Membership Information Membership Categories • Youth (Ages 0-12) • Teen (Ages 13-17) • Young Adult (Ages 18-22) • Adult • One Adult Family (1 Adult and dependents through age 22 living in the same household) • Two Adult Family (2 Adults and dependents through age 22 living in the same household) • Senior (Individual age 65 or greater) • Senior Couple (Couple who are both age 65 or greater) Summer and college memberships available. Rates are available at the Y Welcome Center. Financial Assistance is available.

Initial Enrollment Fee This is a one-time fee charged for new Young Adult, Adult, One Adult Family and Two Adult Family memberships. Individuals who do not renew within 90 days are classified as new members.Young Adults: $25Adult, One Adult Family and Senior: $65 Two Adult Family and Senior Couple: $80

Visitor/Guest Fees Youth $7, Teens (Grades 7-12) $8, Adults $13 Photo I.D. required every visit. Guest fees are for use of gymnasiums, pool, showers, exercise rooms and permit access to group wellness classes. They may be applied towards a Y membership, if redeemed within 30 days.

HEALTHY KIDS DAY®

Saturday, April 25This annual event will feature an exciting variety of fun filled interactive activities for everyone to enjoy. Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. On April 25, the Y will celebrate Healthy Kids Day®, our national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. Over 1,500 Ys across the country are taking part in Healthy Kids Day, holding free community events that are open to all kids and families and filled with fun, active play and educational opportunities. General InformationHours - Effective for the Spring Session March 2 - June 21 Monday – Friday 5:00am – 10:00pm Saturday and Sunday 7:00am – 6:00pm Please note aquatics program areas close 1/2 hour prior to facility closing.

Holiday Closings Closed 4:00pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day.Special Hours New Year’s Day.

Membership Cards We ask that all members show their membership cards when entering the Y. Replacement cards are $5.

Your Y membership card will provide you free access to any Y facility in New England. We are for healthy living and we want you to stay active and keep moving! Now, we have made sure there is a Y wherever you are. So get out and explore New England, visit friends and relatives, and remember to take your Y card with you.

All Y members from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont will be welcome - free - with their current Y ID card anywhere in New England.

Some restrictions may apply so please check the Y you plan to visit by going to their website and clicking on My Y / Every Y to learn more. Photo I.D. required every visit.

AWAY Program Many Ys across the country and abroad participate in the “AWAY” (Always Welcome at Ys) program. This means that when you are on vacation, a business trip, or visiting another town where there is a participating Y, you can use their facility. Remember to bring your membership card! Check with the Welcome Center to see if there is a participating Y where you plan on traveling. The Westerly-Pawcatuck, Arcadia and Mystic branches will honor another Y card for up to two weeks. After that you will be responsible to pay half of the guest fee. Photo I.D. required every visit.

Volunteer OpportunitiesAs a community service organization, the Y thrives on people helping people. The act of sharing, teaching, giving and working with others can bring a new dimension to your life. Inquire at the Y Welcome Center today for volunteer opportunities.

PoliciesConduct – Appropriate conduct is expected at all times. Membership may be suspended and/or revoked for inappropriate behavior. Please see posted rules in specific program areas.

Cell Phone & Photo Policy – Cameras will not be permitted for use in the Y facilities unless approved by the Branch Directors. Cell phone usage permitted in the Y lobbies only.

Valuables – Please bring your own lock. The Y is not responsible for lost items. All lockers are day use only. Locks left overnight will be removed.

Contact Information Changes – Please advise us of any change of address, phone number or email address, so that we may keep our records up to date.

Clothing – All members using the Y are required to wear appropriate attire for their intended activity. In the pool, bathing suits must be worn. Appropriate workout clothing and footwear is required.

Westerly-Pawcatuck Family/Special Needs Locker Room – These locker rooms were designed for people with young children or people with special needs requiring handicapped accessibility.

Supervision – Children under 12 years of age must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times in the facilities unless in a scheduled program.

Wellness Center—must be at least 14 years of age to use the Wellness Center, unless child has previously taken our Kid F.I.T. Club or Youth Wellness Center Training Program. Under 14 must still be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Locker Room Policy – Children age 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the locker rooms.

No Smoking – Smoking is not permitted on Y property.

Family Swim – Pool time is specifically dedicated for families to swim together. Parents must be in the pool with their children. A swim test will be given by the lifeguard prior to allowing swimmers into the deep end of the pool.

Inclement Weather Closing & Cancellation Policy – The Y reserves the right to cancel classes or close its facilities if it feels that remaining open will jeopardize the safety of staff, members and participants. Please check our facebook pages for updates or on RI and CT news stations.

Lost & Found – All items found will be kept for a limited time. Any toiletries or undergarments are thrown away. Stop at the Welcome Center to fill out a form if you have lost an item.

Late Registration – Programs are prorated beginning the third week.

Cancellation Policy – A full refund will be given if a class is cancelled by the Y or if a person cannot meet the course prerequisites. If it becomes necessary for a person to cancel prior to the first class, a full Y credit will be issued. If a participant cancels prior to the second class, a credit of 50% will be given. If a participant chooses to cancel after the second class, no credits or refunds will be granted, unless appropriate medical documentation is provided. Credits may be issued due to medical reasons. Class credits may be used for one full year.

SCHOOL’S OUT PROGRAMGrades K-6Arcadia Sites are after school care ONLY. The Ys School’s Out Program provides high quality, safe and affordable care for grades K – 6. Our sites are located at Charlestown, Hope Valley & Richmond elementary schools and are licensed by the state. Students who attend Chariho Middle School may change their bus schedule by contacting the bus company to arrange drop off at the appropriate school. The Y has financial assistance for those who qualify. We also accept participants receiving funds from DHS and approved providers.

All staff are background checked and trained to provide quality care. Care will be provided from school dismissal until as late as 6:00 pm and will be held onsite at the elementary schools. YOGA FLOWThis multi level class that accommodates beginners to more experienced students begins with breathing and centering, followed by a thorough spinal warm up.

PACE (Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program)Mondays and Thursdays11:00am – 12:00pmThe Arcadia Y together with the ArthritisFoundation and the Rhode Island Department ofHealth Arthritis Action Program is proud to offerthe PACE Program (People With Arthritis CanExercise). The Arthritis Foundation specificallydesigned PACE for people with arthritis. This funinteractive program utilizes general recreationalexercises and Personal Training activities topromote joint range of motion, flexibility, musclestrength and coordination. The program isstructured to accommodate varying fitness levels.Adults with arthritis who can walk (use of assisteddevices permitted), or move from a wheel chair to astraight back chair, are able to participate in theseprograms. Instructors are certified to teach thePACE program by the Arthritis Foundation and areCPR certified. Activities include daily swim lessons and recreation swim time, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, sailing, water trampoline, banana boat, stand up paddle boarding, nature, outdoor living skills, archery, low ropes, high ropes, climbing wall, zip line, cargo net, court games, field games, ga ga and arts & crafts.

Campers may register for Traditional Camp in which campers get to do a little of everything or Specialty Camp in which campers focus on a specialty activity and get a taste of traditional camp. 2015 Specialty Camp programs include Lego, Drama, Watersports, Fort Building, Animation and Tails & Trails (program with the Westerly Animal Shelter.)
