Everyone sat together telling wonderful tales of their travels to faroff places and magical situations they had come across. Midgelle said the story of howPippa fell from the sky into his life was the most magical of all, and everyone agreed.

After awhile, as the sun fell behind the trees, the stories started to take on a scaryedge, stories of circus ghosts haunting wagons and spirit animals growling in the darkwere told. Pippa talked of how Nevermore had seen something unusual in the foreston the flights he took over the dark trees tops before coming in for each night. Hehad told her of a monster as tall as the biggest tree, walking their way. But he admit-ted, he hadn’t gotten a close look. In fact, Pippa mentioned, Nevermore was out flyingover the treetops again tonight, looking for his monster.

Her name was Flora Atwater. She was as tall as a tree and as wild as the wind. WhenPippa, Midgelle and the rest of the party saw her head popping up out of the woodsthey knew they had just met another member of their family.
