Light amber/burnt orange color. The nose includes sun dried peaches and spice with a hint of caramel and oak. Notes of rye grass, peaches, light caramel and a huge burst of cinnamon spice. Pleasantly warm in the mouth and throat without the alcohol burn. The fi nish is fruity and sweet at fi rst with a dash of spice and caramel. A little oak wood at the endleaves a very clean palate.

Outstanding aroma, kicked off by a spicy prickle. Satisfyingly deep, gentle vanillawith a sprig of mint. Waxy sweetness is checked by a big build up of vanilla-richoak. Finish dries as the oak takescommand, but rye offers extra depthand a layer of bitterness, as does alingering licorice. Uncompromisingand complex beyond belief.

Buffalo Trace90 proof, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

The nose is very deep and satisfying. The taste has a masterful start with powerful dry vanilla notes in perfect harmony with hints of honey amid the strong caramel. The long, creamy caramel holds the fort until some late soft peppers arrive to spice things up. The underlying dryness amidthe spice and honey really makes for bourbon that should suit all tastes and one to keep the discerning whiskeydrinker almost purring with delight.– Jim Murray, Whisky Bible
