Uses of Talc Talc is used as a filler in

many products because of its ability to not react with chemicals and also doesn’t hurt the skin.

Talc is used in antacids for stomach and indigestion problems because of high resistance of acids and chemicals in the stomach.

Talc Mining Talc is normally mined via

open pit mining (Surface mining).

Surface mining has downsides to: topography(study of Earth’s shape and features), vegetation, and water resources. The effects to these categories have made open pit mining controversial.

More to mining After the mining is done, large pits are

left in the Earth and have been often used as land fills.

Exposure to Sludge from sewage can cause workers to become ill.

Mountain top removal removes all vegetation, which is essential for tress that absorb most water.

Flash floods and land slides are extremely dangerous when working in surface mining.

Dangers Of Talc Talc has a similar

structure to asbestos, which is well known to give cancer

Both are chemically identical to each other
