Key Steps of the Procedure • Connect diathermy (foot control)

• Lay the instrument for Hasson Trocar insertion for the surgeon

• Connect camera, FOB and insufflator

• An Endo Babcock and an Endo Grasper are used in exposing the appendix

Key Steps of the Procedure

• A Maryland forceps is used to create a mesenteric window under the base of the appendix

• The mesoappendix is divided with a right angle hook diathermy

Key Steps of the Procedure

• An Endo-Metzenbaum is used to divide the appendix between the second and third loop

Special Notes

• The appendix is usually inspected by the surgeon after wound closure and sent for section

• IF consent for recording has been obtained

• The DVD recording is stopped and the disc must be finalised (Refer to the Guidelines kept with each TV system)
