May 25 will ring in the start of Friday's TGIF and what a season we have planned!! As you know, Sheila Fuzy has joined the TGIF team and when I approached her for event ideas, WOW--wait until you see the calendar. She has prepared an outline for each Friday and now all we need are a few volunteers.

We are going to start slow and easy for the first TGIF on May 25 with Rugiono's Subs. We need volunteers for appetizers, desserts, and food ser-vice.

The Ski Club Grill will open June 1 -- the TGIF is a Tappas night and we need about six volunteers to put together Sheila's recipes.

Back by popular demand is “That's Italian” by Rick & Angie Corcimiglias on June 8.

On June 15 the Dan Heath Paradise Band will entertain us while we enjoy ”Wings” by Dave's Lake Shack and "Things" by those who volunteer.

A Gourmet Pizza Night is planned for June 22 and the volunteers will help Sheila with homemade pizza on the grill.

June 29 is really special -- we have the Main Street Dueling Pianos booked. You will read more about this but save the date now!!

July 6 is All American Night and Kay Clark & family will do their famous hog roast. The lake fire-works are also that evening.

See you all this spring!! Sheila and Sandy

SAILING CAMP . . . by Chris Hughes

Welcome to the 2012 sailing season. We hope this summer brings us warm temperatures and great breezes. Terry Cornelius, our past Sailing Chairman, did such a great job that we won’t have to make any substantial changes. Our first race will be on May 19th at 1:00 pm and our last race will be held on Labor Day weekend. We are considering getting the Flying Scots off the start line at the normal 1:00 time, followed by the C-Scows 15 minutes later. We also intend on calling anyone who is early crossing over the starting line. Chris Hughes and crew will be conducting a Sail-ing School again this summer. Chris is very knowledgeable about sailing and is an excellent

teacher. This is a great opportunity for youth or adults to learn the basics of sailing. The sessions will be held on Wednes-day July 11, Thursday July 12, and Friday July 13. For more information, con-tact Chris Hughes at 260-243-0448 or [email protected]. If anyone is interested in racing or crewing, we’d love to have you. Current sailors would be glad to have you join in. Contact Marty Zachrich at 260-495-4023 or 260-668-9065 or [email protected]

NEWS FROM THE BAR . . . by Tim Peterson and Bruce Spangler

NEW BAR POLICY Indiana Law prohibits accumulating bar tabs. You can run a tab for the evening, but you must pay your tab before you leave the Club. Payment can be via cash or personal check. If you for-get to pay your tab as you leave, you will need to pay up before you will be served the next time you come to the Club. This is different from previous years, but it is the law. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

Jan and Rebecca will be back this year to serve your favorite beverages. They ask that you not congregate in front of the bar, but rather get your drink then move away from the bar so others may be served. The bar will be open Thursday evenings at 6 pm beginning June 21 through August 16. The bar will open at 6 pm on Friday and 2 pm on Saturday. We look forward to a great summer.

Tim Peterson & Bruce Spangler, Bar Managers
