hello!

Engagement Sessions

Engagement sessions are highly recommended ! Some of our packages include anengagement session, but we ask that you consider adding one on even if yourpackage does not include it. Not only will you come away will beautiful, high-quality images of you and your fiance, but you will get to see us in action andbecome comfortable with our shooting style. When it comes time for your weddingday, you will be so much more at ease!So what should you wear for your session?

FLATTER YOUR FIGURE - Choose outfits that truly fit and flatter. Avoid clothingthat is too tight or baggy, or that reveals too much!

AVOID EXTREMES, BUT DON'T BE BLAND - While you don't want to overwhelmyour photos with overly busy patterns, we certainly recommend color. Considersimple color blocking, or choosing a neutral base and adding in pops of color withjewelry or accessories.

BRING AN OUTFIT CHANGE - We encourage at least one outfit change for yoursession! Many couples choose a casual look and then change into somethingdressier.

PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY - Consider professional hair and makeup to help bringout your best!

LOCATIONS - Choose a location that matches your style and relationship. Maybeyou spend a lot of time in the city together, or maybe you prefer natural spaces. Wecan help you pick an awesome spot!

Should We Do a First Look?

Some couples choose to do a "First Look" , in which the moment they see eachother for the first time is planned before the ceremony. First Looks oftenmake sense if there is a lot of travel time needed between the ceremony andreception, large amounts of family photos to be done, or simply to allow a moreintimate time together. First Looks can also create a lot more time to devote tophotos, rather than trying to squeeze all of the portraits in during cocktailhour. In a First Look, we come up with a hidden place for you to first see eachother. We capture that amazing moment and allow you to have some sacredtime together before the wedding gets underway. We can then begin tocapture the best portraits of the day: your bride and groom photos! After those, time usually allows for bridal party portraits and family formal portraits. Evenif only some of these get done prior to the ceremony, you are still saved fromthe rush of trying to get all of those photos completed between the ceremonyand reception. That extra time can be used for more bride/groom portraits(maybe adding in another location), or for you to enjoy some of your cocktailhour.Regardless of if you choose to do a First Look or not, we will be able tocustomize the timeline of your day to fit in exactly what you would like tohave photographed.

Getting Ready

The "getting ready" portion of the day is one of our favorites! There issomething so special about capturing a bride putting on her dress and makeup, special moments between her bridesmaids and mom, grandmother, or aunts.

Here are a few tips to ensure that your getting ready photos are gorgeous!

1. Bring a nice hanger for your dress, rather than the plastic one it comes on. Awooden or satin one looks so much better in photos!

2. Have your full invitation suite ready for us to photograph.

3. Consider making a bridal bag with the important details: your jewelry, shoes, perfume, and special mementos you might be wearing or carrying. Wecan grab this and be able to shoot all the details before you need to get dressed.4. The RINGS! Have all the rings together for us to photograph as you aregetting ready.

5. Your bouquet. We love to photograph the bouquet alone and sometimeswith other details.

Tips for Family Formals

Family formal portraits are an important part of your wedding day. For manyfamilies, this is one of the only opportunities for everyone to be in a phototogether. Sometimes, this part of the day can feel stressful or uncomfortable, butwe have a few tips to help it go smoothly! BE SPECIFIC AND ALERT PEOPLE AHEAD OF TIME - A few weeks before thewedding, we will ask for a detailed list of groups for formal photos. Start from thebiggest grouping and work to the smallest, and use people's names in the list. Letthose people know ahead of time that they should stick around for photos andnot wander off!

ASSIGN A HELPER - If you have a wedding planner, you have a huge helper forthis time! If you don't, consider asking a friend to call out names and groupings. Most likely, they know the people better than we do, and it allows us to focus onphotographing the groups efficiently!

KEEP THE GROUPINGS SIMPLE - Family formals can take a very long time.Consider making no more than TEN groupings for photos. You may certainlyhave more than this, but please realize this will take away from bridal party andcouple's portraits time.

Final Thoughts

When your wedding day is approaching, you will begin to think aboutthe timeline of your day. We will be in touch with you and let youknow exactly what we need from you regarding the timeline and list ofgroupings for portraits.

If you are thinking of hiring a wedding planner, please consider doingso! It will be a huge weight off of your shoulders to have someoneexperienced be in charge of setup, cleanup, and every detail inbetween. A good planner ensures that your day runs the way youenvision, and she also help us with the timeline, formal photos, andmakes sure we get the best use of our portrait time with you. Pleasecontact us if you need an excellent recommendation for a planner orday-of coordinator! We highly recommend you allow ample time for bride and groomphotos, whether that be before the ceremony or after. We can do a lotin a little time, but allowing extra time means more photos of the mostimportant part of the day: you and the one you love!Lastly, we want you to truly enjoy your big day. We are here for you,and we will do everything to ensure that you have stunning andgorgeous photos to remember each moment by. We are honored towork with you! If we can answer anything for you, please don'thesitate to contact us.
