THE WEATHER YOU NEED.

Weather Radar is displayed as a mosaic of precipitation data, color-coded to indicate storm severity. With most displays, the image can be animated to allow a pilot to anticipate speed and direction.

Lightning is presented in both observed cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. Lightning typically occurs in thunderstorms and can strike miles from the storm center, making this useful to view separately from precipitation. All service levels include the data for SiriusXM Aviation’s entire coverage area.

METAR and TAF reports provide information on current and forecast conditions, including temperature, dew point, wind speed and direction, and barometric pressure.

AIRMET, SIGMET and PIREP reports advise on potentially hazardous weather.

Cloud Tops and Echo Top Raster indicate the highest altitude at which precipitation is falling, useful in determining storm intensity and turbulence.

Freezing Levels and Icing NOWcast display the altitude and location at which 32°F (0°C) conditions first occur. By combining information from a variety of sources, a forecaster can infer where the highest probability of encountering icing conditions will be, allowing you to plan your flight path accordingly.

TFRs identify airspace where aircraft are temporarily restricted from entering unless a waiver has been issued. TFRs are routinely issued for occurrences such as sporting events, dignitary visits, military depots and forest fires.

Graphical Winds Aloft displays wind speed and direction in a graphic display that can be quickly and easily interpreted. Information is displayed in increments from the surface to above 40,000 feet.

Temps Aloft can show temperature inversions, or unusually warm layers where climbing and cruise performance may be affected.

Turbulence shows you where conditions indicate the potential for erratic movement of high-altitude, air mass-associated winds.
