Learning
Here we will learn about the Water Cycle with pictures and text. Please read every
slide, you will be tested on what you learn!
![Page 11: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
The Sun's heat provides energy to evaporate water from the Earth's surface
![Page 12: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
90% of the evaporated water comes from lakes rivers and streams
![Page 13: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
In this process water changes from a liquid to a gas.
![Page 14: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
![Page 15: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
The water vapor rises into the Earth's
atmosphere where it cools and condenses into liquid droplets.
![Page 16: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Which then form together, into
clouds, that travel across land before the water droplets fall as precipitation
![Page 17: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
For precipitation to happen, first tiny water droplets must condense on even tinier dust, salt, or smoke particles, which act as a nucleus.
![Page 18: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Precipitation may fall as snow, or melt and fall as rain
![Page 19: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Some of the precipitation soaks into the ground. Some of the underground water is trapped between rock or clay layers; this is
called groundwater
![Page 20: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
But most of the water flows downhill as runoff
(above ground or underground),
eventually returning to the seas as slightly
salty water
![Page 21: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
![Page 22: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Once the water has been returned to the oceans, rivers, and streams, the
water cycle starts all over again!
![Page 23: The Water Cycle](https://reader036.fdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062513/55517230b4c9057e458b4aef/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Now let's test our knowledge!
On each slide there is one questions. Answer each question by clicking on the answer that you
think is correct based off of your learning from this presentation as well as the other readings from class.
If you get the answer correct the button will take you to the next question after showing you a correct banner!
If you get the question wrong, the button will take you to a incorrect page that gives you links to places that you can find the correct answer. When you think you have found it, click the go back button and answer the question correctly.
Use your learning wisely! Good luck!

Questions #2 How does water vapor turn into
Rain?Water vapor turns into rainwhen rainbows are present
Water vapor turns into rainwhen the droplets get heavyby condensing around dirtand other particles.
Water vapor turns into rain when the droplets ofwater bump into each other over and over andeventually fall from the cloud
