Our Club has always had fun and at the same time has held to tradition, as you can see in the next twopages. Ron was our first president, followed by our Presidents listed below, as they all willingly (and insome cases, anxiously) gave up the presidency when their term expired (much like George Washington).We have the passing of the gavel pictured below by the past presidents in person and on Zoom.

TUESDAY’S TABLE

From Carol: “I want to thank everyone who participated in Tuesday's Table last evening (June 30) at FirstBaptist Church. It was a great meal even though we are doing things a little different than we are used todoing.

The following helped with food donations or serving: Peggy Shrimpton (coordinator), Cee Ann Davis,Jorge Amselle, Rachel Failmezger, Melanie Hamel, Kathy Napier and Krista Beahm. Dana Adamson fromCalvary Episcopal Church was there to unlock the doors and help us get organized. Valerie Hayes, Rector ofCalvary was also there to help out.

Valerie reported that we served 65 meals and there was enough left over to take to the House of Hope.

Once again, thanks to everyone.”

SCHEDULING CLUB PROGRAMS

General: Each member should try to sponsor at least one speaker for a program each Rotary year. All programs until at least September will be Zoom programs. (We will also be exploring “hybrid” Zoom/in person options)

When scheduling programs, members should:

· Inform their speaker to limit their program to 20 minutes, including question and answer time.· Request their speaker not promote their private business. Speakers may offer business cards or handouts

about their business on a table at the close of the meeting.· Remember that Rotary is non-partisan and does not promote any religion. Please insure your speaker and

SERVICE COMMITTEE MEETING

From Carol: “I am planning to have a Zoom ServiceCommittee meeting on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 5:30pm. Itwill be a short meeting because I am limited by Zoom.

We will be discussing ideas for Service projects that wecan do by "social distancing" and keeping everyone safe. Afew ideas that have been submitted are: items for the BlessingBoxes, Shred Day, Green Way and Shenandoah RiverCleanup, Cards for Veterans Day and continuing our cards tothe local nursing homes. If you have any other items, pleaselet me know. We will not be collecting school supplies forLOEP this year, but could possibly help out one of our localschools. I will send out more information as we get closer tothe date.”

MASK MAKING

Our five “Sewing Bees,” led by Mari Jo,continue to make and distribute masksthroughout our area. At this point they havedistributed more than 1,700 masks. In spite ofgreat difficulties, including machines breakingdown and dying at every turn, and materialsbecoming more and more scarce, they havepersevered. FRONT ROYAL GOLF CLUB

It is reported in the local media, the County hassigned a contract with an in-house management teamto manage the Front Royal Golf Club. The contract isfor a year. This means that we may be able tocontinue to meet there once the pandemic is undercontrol. But stay tuned, there are no guarantees.
