Gapahuk
At the local shore where people go forpicnic and swimming during the summerhalf of the year, a shelter is now beingconstructed. The «gapahuk» will beopen all year for everyone to use. It isbeing built the same way the fishermenand farmers at the west coast ofNorway have built boathouses andbarns for more than a thousand years!

Old Outhouse
Outhouses are buildings people amongother things keep tools and firewood. Inthe old days people built their outhouseusing different materials and differenttechniques. This is a picture of a veryold outhouse near our school inRøvær.
Barn
In earlier days many families in Røvær had asmall barn. Their main income was usually byfishing, but beside this they could have a horse,a cow and some sheep. People kept theseanimals to be self-supported with meat and milk.The picture shows a barn that was built manyyears ago. As what was (or is) common withbarns, the owner stored hay at second floor, andthe first floor were used as a stable.

“ EDIFICIO MIRADOR SANCHINARRO”
This peculiar square building with a hole inthe middle is the most famous building inits neighbourhood. It is a modern buildingwith 21 floors. The views to theGuadarrama mountains are marvellous.

It was the former Communication Palace, built in 1918. Thesetwo white buildings are placed in the historic centre of Madrid,with 30,000 square metres. It is one of the first examples ofmodern arquitecture. The designer´s aim was to create “abuilding for people”. In 1993 it was declared a Monument ofCultural Interest. “THE TOWN HALL IN MADRID”

“TORRES KIO” OR EUROPE GATE
These two towers, Kio Towers, areleaning15º respect the vertical position,with 114 metres and 26 floors. Theyare the second highest twin towers inSpain. They were the first leaningskyscrapers built in the world (in 1996).
“CAIXAFORUM”
This building was a power-station and itwas rebuilt with original results. This newmuseum has an open square with fountainsand cascades. You may appreciate a rustymetalic finish. One of its lateral fronts has aspectacular vertical garden, a green carpetfull of hundreds of plants. This museumhas circular stairs reminding theGuggenheim Museum in New York.

“MUSEO DEL PRADO”
The National Prado Museum, built in the19th century, is one of the mostimportant and most visited museums inthe world. A portico integrated by sixTuscan columns is in the front centralpart of the building. There is a statue ofthe famous artist Velázquez outside themuseum.
“TEMPLO DE DEBOD”
This is a 2,200 years-old temple from theold Egypt placed at the West of “Plaza deEspaña”. It stands in the same direction asit was from East to West. It was a presentfrom Egypt to Spain to acknowledge thehelp of our government in the constructionof the Aswan Dam in 1968.

Die Wotruba Kirche
The Church of the holy of holiest Trinity in Vienna, better known as the Wotruba Church , is locatedon the Sankt Georgenberg in Mauer in the 23rd District of Vienna. It was built between August 1974 andOctober 1976 on the basis of a model by Fritz Wotruba.The church startles at first glance, resembling more an enlarged piece of abstract sculpture. It providesvisitors with the unique opportunity to enter into an art form more often viewed on a much smaller scale.Fritz Wotruba wanted to show that being poor is not the same as ugly, and that believing in God iswonderful even if it is in a very similar building.Lots of visitors have come to see that building even before it was finished.
The building consists of 152 asymmetrically arranged concrete blocks of a size between 0.84 m3 to 64m3, the highest block measures 13.10m.
The new railwaystation - westRebuilding 2008-2011Since mid-September 2008 a series of undertakings havebeen commenced at Wien West, including the renovation ofthe listed ticket hall, the removal of the expensive, redundantflag poles outside of the station and the construction of newbuildings to the left and right of the main hall, all of which arepart of the new BahnhofCity project.To the left, above the park on the corner of MariahilferStraße and Neubaugürtel, an office building with a largeatrium, on the other side another modern office complex withintegrated hotel are being constructed. The plan includesspace for roughly 100 shops and various restaurants.During this construction period the entire ticket hall and theEuropaplatz in front of it have been shut down. The Mur-island in GrazThe Murinsel in Graz, Austria, is actually not an island at all,but an artificial floating platform in the middle of the Mur river.This landmark of Graz was designed by New York artist VitoAcconci on the occasion of Graz becoming the 2003 EuropeanCapital of Culture.The building in the form of a giant sea shell measures 50m inlength and 20m in width.Two footbridges connect it with both banks of the Mur. Thecentre of the platform forms an amphitheatre. Below a twistedround dome there is a café and a playground. The Murinsel isbuilt for a maximum number of 350 visitors.

Open Space Murau - Hotel - LoungeCafe - Bar - GasthofThe Open-Space cafe looks like a wide openmouth over the river Mur. It seems like it wouldhang over the Mur. It's part of a restaurant of the13. century, ten meters high and standing outtwelve meters over the river. A sensational view ina nice athmosphere is guaranteed.

The architect Steven Holl from New Yorkcreated with his Vinedestination Loisium anunusual place for the avangard landarchitecturcombined with the theme vine. The Loisium isa symbios of a modern vine-center, a hotel, amystic vine cellar and vineyards. It's a vine -adventure-center in Austrias famoust whitevinearea. A new combination: 900 years oldvinecellars very modern enacted.The bulding is a silver cube with an angle ofinclination of 5 degrees to the south. So theview between the building, the vinecellar andthe vineyards is very impressioner.
Modernes Einfamilienhaus in Wien
The onefamily-house was built in 2000 in a viennesealloment garden. It could be a prototyp for a moderngardenhouse.In a very populated area, near the Hans ChristianAndersen school, there exists a small ground with250qm. The architect built a small house, scopping outall posibilities to create a lot of room.A teacher of our school lives in this unusual house withher family.

The fly house
The fly house is the smallest house ofColmar and perhaps the smallest in France.Located at the crossroad between SchoolPlace and Market. This house has13 m2, forthis reason, the Colmar residents named it :« The fly box » or « fly house ».
Pfister house
The most famous house of the city isthe Pfister house. Built in 1537, inRenaissance style, for mister LudwigScherer who was hatmaker, this houseis made of stone and wood.

Unterlinden MuseumThis museum is sized on a former convent of thedominicans and its church. It is the most visitedmuseum out of Paris.
The most famous piece of the museum is the« retable d’Issenheim ».
