The VinesThe Vines is a beautifully presented family home that sits in a prime location in the heart of the peaceful village of Baughton. It was purchased by the current owner in 1998, and over the years has been greatly extended to create the space and layout that is ideal for modern family life.

“We were initially attracted to The Vines because for us it ticked an awful lot of boxes,” says Graham. “I had an office in Tewkesbury and my wife had a horse in livery. This house offered us space for a home office in the shape of the self-contained annexe, plus a paddock in which to keep the horse.”

“The house itself was in good condition, but shortly after we purchased it we added a large extension that doubled it in size,” continues Graham. “It gave us a larger kitchen/diner with a separate utility room, and also a very spacious sunroom in which we now have a pool table, gym equipment and a three-piece suite. Then, in 2014 we had a brand new kitchen installed with more contemporary units, beautiful oak work surfaces and all the mod cons.”

“This has always been a very sociable house,” says Graham, “great for parties. The playroom has a door that opens out onto the deck, which is lovely during the summer, and because the bedrooms are at the other end of the house, when the children were young we could have friends over without worrying about disturbing them.”

“We’ve made quite a few changes outside,” says Graham. “We’ve added the lovely decked terrace that wraps around the house so you can follow the sun around from morning to early evening, as well as a covered hot tub area. We use that on a daily basis, and it’s wonderful because it overlooks the paddock so it’s a lovely place to just sit out and relax. The rest of the garden is mainly laid to lawn and mostly surrounded by a boundary of mature hedging, so it feels very private.”

“For 10 years the annexe was used as an office separate to the main house and housed up to eight staff. In 2012 it was changed to separate living accommodation with its own kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. It would be ideal as an office, a studio or ancillary accommodation. For each planning permission has been obtained”

“The house is right in the centre of the village and just a stroll away from the newly renovated pub which does some fabulous food,” says Graham. “We’re also within striking distance of Upton upon Severn, which is a lovely town, and Worcester is no more than fifteen minutes away.”

“I would describe this as a really fabulous family home in a superb location,” concludes Graham.*
