She loves the people and the staff is excellent. “Everyone is so kind you never meet a stranger”, per Barbara. She was born in Nashville; where she grew up. She met her husband, Junior, in Kingston Springs and it was love at first sight!! They were married for almost 60 years. They raised 3 children; Gary, Steve, and Melanie; which led to 4 grandsons, 3 great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. They were a “Normal Family,” not extravagant. They are Christian and very involved in their Church. Barbara worked for Whirlpool as a secretary and retired after 25 years. She and Junior moved to Murfreesboro in 1999. Barbara is a fun loving and caring person. She is always looking for the good in people, she is supportive, helpful and loves to kid around; so watch out for her humor!!! Barbara’s greatest accomplishment is her family. Favorite quote: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” PINK FLAMINGO MONTH Every Friday wear something PINK or with a FLAMINGO on it, or both PINK with FLAMINGOS! We will be celebrating Flamingos all month and on June 23rd you will need to turn in your guess of how many flamingos are on our property. Person with closest guess will get a prize! COUNTRY DRIVES We will do “Country Drives” again this month. Make sure you sign up at the front desk for these outings (there will be limited seats). Weather permitting of course. Hello, Sunshine! Happy Summer! Bring on the sun and fun! Summer officially begins on June 20. Here’s to Dads Celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21, and honor dads, granddads and father figures everywhere. Remember the Three Ls To avoid overheating, health experts say for your clothing: Keep it Lightweight, Loose-fitting and Light-colored. A Dandy Sight Blooms of dandelions are an annual sight across many landscapes. The plant’s head holds as many as 300 ray flowers that look like tiny petals. The white seeds can disperse and drift off miles away. Folklore says the dandelion’s life cycle symbolizes our solar system: The yellow flower resembles the sun, the white puff ball looks like the moon and the scattered seeds are the stars.
