Ask Jeff, the Maintenance Manager….
Q: My heat tape has stopped working. When it comes to replacing it, how far into the ground do I need to go?
Heat tape is needed to protect not only your water lines leading into your home, but also the water riser that goes into the ground. When replacing your heat tape, make sure it goes down at least 12” to 18” around the water riser, further if possible. It is also important to insulate the heat tape on your pipes and place insulation above the water riser. We have more information available in the office.
Jeff
A friendly reminder to please clean all snow and ice from your driveway, sidewalk, and front entrance, including any snow left by the street plowing.
Thank you!
