BENGALURU
Bengaluru (also known as Bangalore) is the capital of India’s southern Karnataka state. The center of India’s high-tech industry, the city is also known for its green spaces and nightlife. Near Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha is its massive Neo-Dravidian legislative building. Former royal residences include 19th-century Bangalore Palace, modeled after England’s Windsor Castle, and Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, an 18th-century teak structure. Blessed with a benevolent climate and a burgeoning drinking, dining and shopping scene, it offers the chance to experience the modern face of India.

CHENNAI
Chennai, known as the ‘capital of the south’ takes its role as keeper of South Indian artistic and religious traditions seriously, and is a hub for performing arts and culture. Among Chennai’s greatest assets are its people, who are infectiously enthusiastic about their hometown, where traditional temples, colonial forts and swanky malls share space in harmony. But Chennai’s greatest wealth is hidden in its kitchens. Whether you choose a street stall or a fine dining restaurant, local cuisine here is top quality, with Dosas, Idlis and filter coffee among the most famous offerings on any menu.

DELHI
Delhi is the capital territory of India, home to an estimated 25 million people, making it the second most populous city in the world. Delhi, popularly known as the city of Djinns, faced a regular stream of invaders from the North, and was built and rebuilt at least 8 times, the historic remains of which can be seen scattered through the city, prime examples being Red Fort, Old Fort, Tughlaqabad and Qutub-Minar. Delhi is a wonderful mix of the old and new, and a buzzing centre of cultural activity. The old city offers a variety of delectable street food, local handicrafts, jewellery, fabric, and so much more, a majority of these are housed in narrow crowded streets. While New Delhi shows off the city’s modern face, with wide roads, housing key government offices, (since the Central government of India is based here) as are all the foreign missions. Watch out for a sensory overload in this truly vibrant and diverse city.
