What is utsiktstornet?

- Teodor Abreu and works as the Utsiktstornet together with the founder Johanna Valentin.

- We work with chess as an educational tool.

- Primarily with creating meetings on the same conditions of children and and youths from different socio-economic backgrounds to demolish prejudices and create a more tolerant and understanding society.

What is chess as an educational tool?

- Chess helps children and youth to develop there concentrate ability practice logical thinking and pattern recognition.

- Based on these benefits the idea of the training tool Chess Memo was born.

- Cess Memo is a web based platform with working memory exercises, was built online for students to play and practice.

- What is Chess Memo?*Chess memo is a web-based tool for children with neuropsychiatric disabilities that need to enhancetheir working memory and concentration.

- What is the intention of Chess Memo?*The intention is to give children the possibility of social and intellectual development. The game hasthe potential to enhance the working memory, increase children´s self confidence and socialrelations.

* The working memory can be enhanced up to 15-20%. Together with prominent professors and researchers within the area of working memory,concentration issues and neuropsychiatric disabilities.

How do you train and play Chess Memo?

- The program Chess Memo consists of 25 training sessions with 25 minutes training a day for 5 weeks. Once the person has gone through all practice sessions, they do a test, where we can track there progress.

How does the exercise work and what do you train?

- Visuospatial working memory training, some of schackbrädets squares lit up, the practitioner should remember that boxes that brightened and click on them.

- The chess board needs to rotate slowly, then it´s easier to maintain focus.

How does the exercise work and what do you train?

- Auditory working memory training, all pieces are on the ranks and become presented by VO (presented only the first time at training start). The pieces dimmed. When pieces toned up again, they placed on the board, randomly. The VO: says "click on the runners, towers and queen". The pieces are positioned randomly so that no player is taught to positions by heart.

How does the exercise work and what do you train?

Complex executive working memory training, It's all about clicking on pieces in reverse order than presented. First presented a click of the pieces in a particular order visually eg "queen-pawn". The performer must click on in reverse order, ie, "pawn-queen".

How does the exercise work and what do you train?

- In the part of the training game you learn how to move, take and threat with the pieces, you also learn how the pieces function.

- How does the the admin section work?

* Includes specific data on how students are performing, when student training. We can follow the results and draw different conclusions linked to working memory but also chess practise.

* - What data do we get?* Each game type contains the Number

Games, Max Level and the number of Levels, and Average Score.

- Chess Memo exercise- *Through regular practice of the

training game we measure the results the student perform in working memory training.

We measure, among other things, how the game affects Friendships, Mathematics and numerical series.- - Schools & Classes* We have about 100 children from grade 1-9. A large number of children have neuropsychiatric disabilities. Such as autism, ADHD, which is our primary target to help. - Control + Example Group- * To ensure the validity of the study

What will happen in the future (effects)?- Spreading - * Our partner Swedish Chess

Federation holds a tournament called Schack4an. Several 1000 children and adolescents, where we want Chess Memeo to be a part of training. Chess and pedagogy in school, already functioning program in Sweden, ask children to practice chess knowledge.

- Packaging * package in the app/mobile format and expose the days. then anyone can practice their working memory and chess skills.- Development * Chess in schools, more countries are investing in chess in school. Including the United States and recently Spain.
