GENERAL COMMENTS
InstructorThis is a well-written essay with some goodcrit ical discussion about the negative impact thePrevent strategy is having on Muslimcommunities in the UK. You state the case welland provide a reasonable source of ref erencesto support your argument.
Whilst I f ound that the crit ical analysis of thenegative impact of Prevent on Muslimcommunities was ef f ective, I would like to haveseen the counter-argument which does existabout the good things Prevent has and is doing,in order to bring a better balance to your essay.Without giving each side an equal opportunity tostate their case, it will be dif f icult to provide abalanced crit ical analysis of the topic. Forexample, since the recent review of Prevent, additional f ocus is being placed on right-wingextremism, international impact of radicalisationthrough the internet and concerted ef f orts inworking with HE to support their work oncountering violent extremism. These were allcrit icisms of Prevent, which the Government istrying to address and could have been discussed.
Overall, a well written and presented essay and aclear structure throughout, linking one sectionwith the other ef f ectively.

Comment 1You have repeated this point as made in page 3, but I am not clear of the point you aremaking about the 7/7 bombers: whether they ref ute of support the assumption that violentextremism is connected to Muslim communities?
PAGE 5
Comment 2You are making some good points here, but beware of over-reliance on one source to makethem. Use additional sources to either triangulate and support the view, or opposing viewsthat may provide the crit ical discourse on the subject.
