description

The purpose of the Unified Trust Advisor Symposium is to equip you to deliver a new value proposition to your clients. The marketplace for qualified plan services is intensely competitive, yet only a handful of advisors can truly claim that they are improving the outcome for the participants. Our goal at Unified Trust is to work with those advisors that want to focus on participant outcomes, and we want to help educate the advisor that wants to get there. The Unified Trust Advisor Symposium will be held Monday, May 16th—Wednesday, May 18th in Louisville, Kentucky.

Continuing EducationThe agenda for the Unified Trust Advisor Symposium is designed with Continuing Education in mind. We work diligently to make sure that the content is relevant to the industry, taught by subject matter experts and each session is at least 60 minutes in length. Most CE programs do not pre-approve sessions meaning that Unified Trust cannot submit them to governing organizations to see if they will be pre approved for CE credits. Rather the majority of CE programs in the industry are self-report, requiring the individual applying for CE to ensure that the session meets the criteria set forth by the organization for which they are applying for CE credit. To assist with this process, Unified Trust keeps a record of all attendees at the event. We will also provide all attendees with a copy of the presentations and a certificate of course completion.

The only CE credits that are pre-approved for 2016 are for the following designations:

» Certified Financial Planner (CFP®): Nine (9) CE Credits Approved » C(k)P Designation: Eight (8) CE Credits Approved

Please note to receive CE credit for the CFP designation, attendees must provide Unified Trust with their CFP number, last four digits of SSN, and sign in and out of the conference.

on the topic of bourbon

all Bourbon is Whiskey but not all Whiskey is Bourbon

the law of Bourbon

an evening atJim Beam Distillery

The 2016 Unified Trust Advisor Symposium will be held in Lousiville, Kentucky, the heart of Bourbon Country!

The Scots have their Scotch. Italians, their wine. Russians, their Vodka. In America, we’ve got our Bourbon. Known as “America’s Native Spirit,” bourbon whiskey is the only alcohol that is a distinctive product of the United States.

In Kentucky, we take pride in that, especially considering 95 percent of this corn-based, caramel colored smooth-sipping icon is distilled, aged and bottled right here in the state’s Bourbon Country. It’s big business for the Bluegrass State. But more than industry, Bourbon is a culture, a history and heritage built by generations of Kentuckians from as early as the late 18th century.

Today, we honor this heritage with the legendary Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. The 2016 Advisor Symposium will give you opportunity to experience a piece of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with an exclusive evening at the world famous Jim Beam Distillery! Experience the bourbon making process, take in the beautiful surrounding landscapes and enjoy an after-tour tasting of Kentucky bourbon plus a delicious southern inspired dinner.

Bourbon is kind of like whiskey’s “sweet spot.” Because corn is a sweet grain, the more corn, the sweeter the whiskey—and bourbon needs to be

at least 51% corn.

Bourbon, by law, must be aged in a brand-new, charred white oak barrel to be called straight

bourbon whiskey. In fact, Bourbon has the most regulated spirits production process in the world.

Bourbon is the only product in the world

which you cannot legally add color or additives to. Only

water, wheat, corn, rye, malt and the

colorization of the barrel are allowed

to influence the consistency of the golden beverage.

In 1964, Congress declared bourbon “America’s Native Spirit.” That means to be called bourbon, it must be made in the U.S.A.

It can’t say “bourbon” on the label if it’s not distilled and aged in the United States. It can’t be “Kentucky Straight Bourbon” unless it’s distilled and aged in Kentucky for at least 2 years.

Total Bourbon inventory topped 5.6 million barrels in 2014, the highest it’s been since 1975.

That means there are one million more barrels of Bourbon aging in Kentucky than there are people.

It technically doesn’t have to be made in Kentucky, although 95% comes from the Bluegrass State.
